Strengths: great signal... when you can get one.
Weakness: it over heats to the point where you can burn your hands and randomly disconnects you from the internet... very annoying
like i said above, it overheats to the point where i have already burnt my hands trying to unplug it. It gets really annoying... it happens anywhere from every other day to 2 to 3 times a day. So unreliable.. it just started happening after about 3 months of use. I'm up at college so i need to constantly have access to my emails about my classes and be able to access the internet to turn in...
Strengths: Easy setup, works great
Weakness: Size is a little too big.
This USB adapter is very easy to set up. It especially works well with the netgear router. Setting wep key is a lot easier with a phrass instead of 26 char string. It works great, good range and speed. The only thing that I don't like it is the size of it. I have 4 USB ports at the back of the machine, once I plug this thing into one port, I couldn't plug anything into other two USB port. It's...
Strengths: quick,small
Weakness: none
I bought it because it looks nice. In fact, it is very good. very reliable. never have any problem with it. wirlessg is expensive than wirless-b, but worth to try the better one. In all. I am happy with it.
Strengths: quick, continous, high quality
Weakness: none
one of the best brand, one of the best usb adapter. wireless g is better than wireless b in speed. Now I know why it sells about 40$ everywhere. It is worth tham that price. you wonot regret with it.
Strengths: Wireless, just plug in, configure and go!
Weakness: When using with my Tivo, I had to drop from WPA to WEP 128.
I bought this adapter specifically because it works with Tivo. I also received a rebate. Not bad for a 54MB nic, even though there are faster ones out there. I trust Netgear and have used them for years. Overall a great card and it works with Tivo, you will need to upgrade your Tivo software to join your network.
Strengths: It's plug-and-play adapter, so I just need to plug it in, and my laptop can automatic detect it and connect to Internet. It's very quick and simple.
Weakness: It would be greater if I bought a 108mbps one.
I can carry it along with my laptop very easily. It can be the best choice if you just need Internet to check mail, or surf web.
Strengths: Fast, easy installation, backwards compatible with 802.11b.
Weakness: A little wider than some other brand same style USB adapters.
I purchased this to replace the Syntax 802.11b USB wireless adapter I've been using in my home theatre PC since early January 2004. Installation was quick and trouble free under Windows XP Pro. After installation of the software and a reboot, it was barely a minute or two to set up, even using 128-bit WEP encryption. So far, the only minor design flaw I have noticed, is that this adapter is a...
Strengths: easy to install; hook and play.
Weakness: the provided driver causing my PC system blue screen/reboot under the big traffic load
I noticed there were many people like me encountered this blue screen problem when I connected to a vedio media channel. Someone suggests not to install its own driver, instead, using the USB driver provided by Microsoft will fix this crashing problem. I did that and it worked. However, I spent too much time to make it work. Overall, I think the hardware is ok but the driver has to be improved.
Strengths: Compact, speedy, easy to install.
Weakness: A little bulkier than analogous 802.11b models. Only standard 54Mbps, no support for enhanced 100-125Mbps.
This pocket-sized 802.11g adapter was easily installable on my desktop, then on my laptop, using high-speed USB 2.0. It works just fine, though only at the standard 54Mbps speed rather than the enhanced 100-125Mbps that my USRobotics router supports. The adapter comes with an USB extender cable, useful if you are connecting the adapter to a desktop computer. Even if you already have an 802.11g...

Good adapter; crappy proprietary software
Strengths: Works as it should when set up correctly (read: not the way it tells you to set it up)
Weakness: Actually doesn't work with the proprietary software that comes with it
Don't do as the packaging says when buying this--instead, just plug in the adapter, wait for Windows to ask you for drivers (don't know if the process is the same for Vista; I use XP), then put in the CD and let it find the drivers from it. Once that's done, it'll work flawlessly as a generic wireless connection in Windows. From there, no issues whatsoever.
