Description
The WRT310N Wireless-N Gigabit Router is really three devices in one box. First, there's the Wireless Access Point, which lets you connect to the network without wires. There's also a built-in 4-port full-duplex 10/100 Switch to connect your wired-Ethernet devices together. Finally, the Router function ties it all together and lets your whole network share a high-speed cable or DSL Internet connection.

Strengths: None
Weakness: Slow speed. Setup was easy but using 192.168.1.1 would be faster. Single band antenna. Short antenna range.
Returned this product after 2 days. Setup was easy but too many limiting features and slow speed. Bought 1GB cards for faster computer to computer file transfer but small speed gain was not worth the expense. Small profile lays flat taking up too muck desk space. XBOX play was limited, TIVO connection signal was poor 7% at 30 feet and 1 inside wood frame wall. Wireless internet was slow compared...
Strengths: Easy set up sort of
Weakness: Placement crucial
Style different looking but beauty is in the eye.... Opened box read instructions put disc in drive got to step 4 0r 5 (plug in Power), stopped re-tried stopped. Call tech support on hold about 10 min. Tech walked me through within 3-5 min. Powered on my notebook about 50 feet away signal fair. Turned router about 2", signal went to perfect. Who knows these modern marvels!
Strengths: Very easy set-up, even without tutorial. Many advanced administrative (firewall, port forwarding, internal routing control) functions, but not necessary for basic function. Good range.
Weakness: None apparent so far.
I had read many reviews for different products and was looking for a gigabit router for my internal network, as well as 802.11n capabilities and backward compatibility for visitors to my house. This router is replacing a Lynksis WRT54G that recently succumbed to a power surge. I bought it open box, all materials arrived as expected. The set-up was almost identical using the web-based interface,...
Strengths: Good range, faster speeds than previous models, reliability, cleaner looks
Weakness: not dual band
I've had this model for a few months now, and I can say that it is a very good upgrade to the previous Draft-N models that came out a year or so ago. The fact that it has no physical antenna is also a plus, showing that you don't need that in order to connect (they are mostly for looks). I've been using WiFi for about 6 years and I'm very happy with this model, though I wish the dual band was a...
THE GOOD: Compact, antenna-free design; great range, unparalleled performance among Draft N routers. THE BAD: Runs very hot; no USB-related features; a short one-year warranty. THE BOTTOM LINE: Aside from its potentially worrisome heat output, the Linksys WRT310N Wireless-N Gigabit Router is a networking dynamo with chart-topping performance and a sleek (maybe too sleek) design.

Linksys WRT310N
Strengths: Magnificent Range. Pretty straight forward to set up. Secure remote administration over the internet.
Weakness: Form Factor.
I installed the router in a commercial building of 60 ft by 165 feet. I then went around the building with my laptop using a wireless G card. Signal strength was more than adequate on all three floors except for one small remote area. This building has a brick wall across the middle of it! It is easy to set up. Just log on to the url and go through the menus to set the settings. The product was...
