Description
The Linksys WRT54G2 Wireless-G Broadband Router is really three devices in one box. First, there is the Wireless Access Point, which lets you connect Wireless-G or Wireless-B devices to the network. There is also a built-in 4-port full-duplex 10/100 Switch to connect your wired-Ethernet devices. Connect four PCs directly, or daisy-chain out to more hubs and switches to create as big a network as you need. Finally, the Router function ties it all together and lets your whole network share a high-speed cable or DSL Internet connection.

I upgraded from a Trendnet after being frustrated with it for a month and difference was amazing. The linksys set up was great and works flawlessly. Also I hear you can customize a lot of the firmware but have not tried it yet.
Strengths: Price, style
Weakness: none so far
This router was very easy to set up; just followed the instructions provided and in a few minutes I could connect my MacBook to the network. I have an excellent reception to my Macbook from essentially anywhere in the house. I also have a xbox 360, and ps3 connected to it, both working without any problems. I also like the design of this router. The antennas are hidden into the router and it...
Strengths: Superfast
Weakness: None
I bought this after I upgaded from DSL to Broadband through Comcast. My old router was only pulling in about 3000 mega bytes per second. With this router I'm getting over 20000. This was a great purchase. Super fast download speeds. Try testing at speedtest.net. You'll definitely notice a difference.
Strengths: Works very well.
Weakness: I'm not very knowledgeable in the computer area, so it took me a while to get my settings right.
It's great not to be connected to the desk. I'm still not quite sure if my security settings are correct, and I've yet to figure out how to print wirelessly...but those are operator issues, I suspect! Overall, I love it and would recommend this router to others.
Strengths: Extreme ease of set-up. Excellent software available for download. Great performance.
Weakness: Unable to upgrade antenna. Odd looks.
This is the second generation router based on the rock-solid Linksys WRT54G that has been available for a long time. The setup was quick and painless and I recommend downloading the software to manage the network. The pros far outweigh the cons for me considering performance and ease of use are top priority for me. The looks of the router seem "spacey" and I thought they would have shrunken the...
Strengths: Connects much faster
Weakness: none
I upgraded from a Linksys 802.11b because it was too slow with the new "Vista" and it could no longer be updated. I purchased this WRT54G2 and it does everything it claims.I am very pleased with its speed and its distance it sends signal. This router transmits a signal through five walls and it shows a 54 mbps signal at the desktop pc that is almost two hundred feet from the router. It also has a...
Strengths: Very good speed, easy to install, looks great
Weakness: Could not load the wireless settings page in admin console, long waiting time for customer service
I was using a Netgear 802.11b router and compared to that, this router has a much better range and speed. I am not using the 802.11g feature as yet as I dont have a 802.11g wireless card, but overall the router is great. The only problem I had was that when trying to setup the wireless security settings, the page was stuck at Wifi protected dialog box. What I did was directly type the URL in the...
Strengths: * Easy configuration * Standard Linksys web GUI interface * Support for a full set of wireless security features * Stylish design with hidden antennas
Weakness: None
This is a great follow up on one of the most popular wireless routers made by Linksys. This unit supports all the features of its predecessor and offers support for the latest wireless security enhancements. The unit has no antennae sticking out and is stylish enough to sit your desk. The wireless signal quality is the same, if not better, than that of the original WRT54G. I found no issues with...
Strengths: Easy to install, good speed
Weakness: loses connectivity after 6 months
I bought my router in May. Up until about two weeks ago, I had no problem. Then, I lost my connection. I disconnected my ethernet-connected computer directly to the modem and my internet was perfect. The problem is that my primary computer is the one that connects to the internet wirelessly. So, I called Linksys, reset the router updated some settings. Then, Sunday night I lost my connection...

This was a replacement...AWESOME PRODUCT!!
Strengths: Easy to set up, range is acceptable in this home, and it looks futuristic and cool
Weakness: The unit takes up precious desk space
I replaced a friend's old Wireless-G Router/Switch/Access Point by SMC. This worked so much better than his older unit. For his use...he gets acceptable speed and distance in his home. GOOD JOB LINKSYS!
