Strengths: alot of range with optimal signal ,great for my xbox live and ps3 network gaming
Weakness: maybe a bit pricey
overall a great router ,i highly recommend it for online gamers who need optimum wireless connnection.also a lil confusing to hook up because there are so many advanced features but super sweet once you set up
Strengths: footprint, appearance, led screen trial of network magic and relatively stable
Weakness: Despite pairing with an 'N' band linksys extender my streamed videos sometimes pause. Transfer speeds can fluctuate and are only marginally able to transfer HD
Spent most of the day getting it linked but assume this due to my inexperience. Had to reinstall the software once. Included software is good but some $30 or so if you decide to keep. Tuning may fix problems with transfer speeds but my first attempts didn't help. Still, it works fine for regular recorded media and I don't think there is anything better in price range for draft n.
Strengths: This router is step up from DGL-4300. It has better wireless singal than DGL-4300 and DIR-655. 4 Gigabit ports. Wireless N 2.0 Dual band. Easy to setup. Comes with screen.
Weakness: Wireless N is a draft so this is not final product. The screen on the router power off after 10-15 seconds of being on. Kinda dumb navigation through screen navigation, NEXT and OK option buttons.
Overall it is a good router and easy to use. As goes wireless N is in a draft mode and not a final product. This router is one of the few that uses 2.0 version of wireless N. So what does it mean? If you own a notebook with the wireless card in it, wireless n 1.0 allows connection of 130mbs and 2.0 will allow 300mbs. Though it is not a easy as it sounds. To establish wireless connection at 300mbs...
Strengths: Easy Set-Up
Weakness: Expensive, no better signal than before
This was a disappointing purchase. The router is a very sleek-looking, attractive device. It was very easy to set-up, right out of the box. However, that's where the fun ended. I was able to get no better signal with this supposedly high end router than I had with my Belkin Pre-N Router, which I ultimately reinstalled. Since I had barely enough knowledge to be dangerous, I paid a tech geek to...
Strengths: good knowledge about gaming gear
Weakness: uncertain about good gaming routers
saw this router on the shelves and decided to look up the specs and reviews. after seeing both, i've come to the conclusion this is a nasty router. i was just curious if you would get the same quality if you ran a 360 off it...
Strengths: Easy to setup. Best Security Rules & Web Access control. Has a gigabit backbone for lag less game play plenty of wireless power WAN port speed is 10/100/1000 and not just 10/100
Weakness: Instruction manual lacking and very high bang for the buck.
Make sure before you buy this router that you have, or will be getting, wireless N devices for your computers. If you have this router and a standard wireless G device, you will not get wireless N speeds.
Strengths: Speed, Looks, Gigabit Ports, Dual Band
Weakness: Some fluctuation, V. 2.0 setup
Got this after looking at more expensive Linksys router, mainly due to higher throughput rate and lower cost. It is the better choice. Primary concern is throughput and this one does it. Can adjust for gaming priority, if that's your main use. Vesion 2.0 requires use of higher mode with less range and no g ability. If you want a home gigabit network you need a compatible router like this. The LCD...
Strengths: Easy to set up manually. Works very well as a sub-router. Wireless connection is strong and does travel further than other wireless routers I've used.
Weakness: The installation CD was a waste of time. Just set it up manually, it's MUCH easier and faster that way.
The security features that can be set up are quite nice as well as the ability to easily set up as a sub-router to a main router. It does seem to help stabilize internet data transfer. I would not recommend this router for a novice unless they have a friend or family member that can help them set it up. I would recommend this router as long as you don't mind paying more money. You do seem to get...

The DGL-4500 from D-Link is a premium priced, gamer branded broadband router that contains three of the latest technologies for 2008: gigabit ethernet, draftN support, and dual band. While all the main buzzwords are there, a few caveats need to be mentioned, particularly the fact that while the router broadcasts in both the 2.4GHz or 5.0GHz spectrums, it cant do both simultaneously. The 5.0GHz is...

awesome gaming router
Strengths: appearance, easy setup, blah, blah, blah
Weakness: haven't found one yet...
My husband and I both play xbox360 on-line. We had a belkin n wireless router and used to lag out A LOT and totally lose connection in the middle of games. Spent HOURS on the phone with xbox AND belkin and tried messing with IP addresses and all kinds of technical crap, only to make my "connection" WORSE... Long story short, I got this router and I haven't lagged out since and I always get host....
