Strengths: it's good, it was an easy setup and it has decent signal
Weakness: u must move the antenna and the routers antenna to get good signal or it's most likely low but i have it from the living room the the second floor.
it's good, it was an easy setup and it has decent signal u must move the antenna and the routers antenna to get good signal or it's most likely low but i have it from the living room the the second floor. i think i'll get usb keys now bcuz u can get a usb extender and just expend it out to get EXCELLENT signal
Strengths: Good signal quality; included software is helpful
Weakness: None that I discovered yet
This is a very good network card. I am using in with the defult router and it runs very well. It has good speed. For a value user it works well, but dlink's faster network card/router combo are better for those looking to spend a little more money.
Strengths: Good speed and connectivity.
Weakness: During the first 2 days, Windows XP was not able to detect the card twice, but haven't had any problems since. Sometimes takes a few minutes upon startup to detect wireless router signals .
This is a fairly good and cheap unit (lots of rebates right now), although it had some issues at first. It's got a good signal, being tucked in the corner of the room. I have it running off my 802.11b router so I would like to see how fast the network is with a new 802.11g router. I would recommend it.
Strengths: Stable connection, Cheap, Easy to install
Weakness: None
This is an invredible wireless PCI adapter. Cheap, reliable, and you don't have to be a computer expert to install this hardware. During 7 days of use, it has never failed on me. Good product for your budget computer!
Strengths: Connected and worked reliably at 802.11g speeds without any problems. Recommended.
Weakness: No driver for Linux. Works with ndiswrapper though.
I recommend the hardware. I am currently running it reliably without problems. If you are a Windows user, it may be a snap to install. The only weakness is that it doesn't have a Linux driver. You can use the WinXP driver with ndiswrapper, but it's a bit tricky.
Strengths: strong signal, easy to setup
Weakness: none
recently i bought it to replace an generic pci wireless card, which has unstable signal and troublesome installation. i am pretty happy to have this dlink. its setup is easy as a snap. and consistent signal makes nevery worry about interruption when "chat" online using msn messenger.
Strengths: Reasonably fast when it works.
Weakness: Little to no support for alternative operating systems (UNIX, WIN2k)
Why I would never buy this again: -Using WEP encryption under Windows 2000, the lousy DLink Airplus utility needs a "kick" every time you boot the machine (needs to be reminded of its encryption settings). -Tried to install this under FreeBSD using kernel modules and using NDISwrapper. Had awful luck. -No firmware upgrades or driver updates available. -No WPA encryption available on Windows 2000....
Strengths: setup was easy, software was decent.
Weakness: finding and holding connectivity to network - basically the only things i wanted it to do!
i walked in to my local Best Buy and grabbed this off the shelf, enticed by $30 after rebate price. since then, i've spent most of my time in the wireless settings on my XP Pro machine trying to access my home network. the router is in the next room and my laptop can go anywhere in the house but my desktop with this GWL-510 card in it was totally helpless. wireless signal would flicker on and off...
Strengths: Not much fairly moderate item, nothing really outstanding.
Weakness: Not many customization options and the lack of Windows 98 operating system support.
Bought this to work with my D-Link Wireless Router and it worked fine, nothing special though. I really hated the lack of customizable options and the Windows 98 support really bugged me because I had to upgrade the PC so it would work.

waste of money, hello poor house
Strengths: Not d-link
Weakness: Keeps locking up machines, loss of connection.
I bought 14 of them for a real estate agency. The machines constantly lock up when the drivers are loaded for these cards. Its not just one card. Its all 14 of them on 14 different machines. My business relationship is strained beyond relief. I guess I'll just have to buy 14 more cards(not d-link) to make them happy. I wasted so much time on these things. D-link was no help whatsoever. Stay away.
