Strengths: Good Throughput, Slick design, some hackability (ability to enable BusyBox sessions)
Weakness: Slow web interface, LED status ocassionally incorrect, range (when matched with the N1 card) is inferior to that of the Pre-N router
Good, but I would recommend opting for Pre-N instead. Lacks configurability, inferior range (to that of the Pre-N router and card), and slow web interface. Finally, the price, $150 is way too steep. After owning this router for ~3 weeks, I retyurned it and purchased the Belkin Pre-N pakcage- which included a Pre-N card AND router for only $100. In combination, they demonstrated a HUGE increase in...
Strengths: Looks great, easy to set up using the supplied CD (ONLY!), LED display very helpful
Weakness: Crashes when turning on security, MAC-control, disable SSID broadcast will not accept @ in user-name
Warranty replacement. The first replacement arrived. I connected via Ethernet and use my web browser to connect to their set-up page, without a problem. My DSL provider, BellSouth/AT&T, uses "connection type" PPPoE. When trying to enter my user name I kept getting a "ULR error", the router would not accept the @ symbol in the user name field. This prevented me from being able to connect to the...
Strengths: A great range, easy installation, and no down time.
Weakness: none
Was able to install it within 20 mins. Received an "Excellent" reception even at neighbor's house. The images on the device makes the troubleshooting much easier and faster. Would certainly recommend it.
Strengths: Works good when it works!
Weakness: Died after 2 months!
The router seemed to work rather well while it lasted and the web interface was better than my last D-Link router. However, I've had it only 2 months and it has now died. It will now connect only about 25 seconds at a time with a period of about 25 seconds without connection. I rather like the product but the fact that it died after only 2 months is rather disconcerting and I'm unsure if I'll buy...
Strengths: good range, but not important here
Weakness: excessive dropouts
done with belkin. for the past few weeks i’ve had more dropouts than a 70’s highschool. i’m not some tech geek, but i’m not a newbie and this thing sucks, 3 sessions with tech support - i now speak full punjabi and hindi now, and nothing works, 3 email sessions with tech support and all i did was waste paper and ink. all in all each time they all said the same thing - firmware update,...
Strengths: when it works it has great long range coverage
Weakness: the install of the notebook card was horrible and the router has to be restarted daily to work.
The router at first seemed great with my reagular G network adapter. Then when I went to intall the N1 notebook card it went down hill. The install never went through all of the stages that it said it would in there easy install. I finally had to configure it with windows zero configuration. It seemed to work great but then I noticed that about 2-3 times a day I have to restart the router or both...
Strengths: Very easy setup, Provides fast internet speed and great signal!
Weakness: Very expensive router, Disconnect the internet from time to time, and had to be reset too often
I bought this router based on the review that it had been recieved. I thought it would give the faster speed to my internet speed. Well, it did not give me any faster speed, but it did not slow down either. Basically, it provides the same speed that I used to have without having this router. I might have misunderstood that it would be able to surf the internet at faster than 54g even if I have an...
Strengths: all
Weakness: ?
some people say u cant get on but u cat al you need to to is disable MAC Address Filtering , Firewall > WAN Ping Blocking. next the Bandwidth put on to 20mhz+40mhz auto and QoS Configuration on Broadcast SSID off to make it fast if u want mt speed isastest Download: 14364 kb/s Fastest Upload: 2107 kb/s Average Download: 2611 kb/s Average Upload: 1808 kb form speedtest.net
Strengths: Very easy setup and use.
Weakness: Not as powerful distance wise as the Belkin pre n.
If I had the choice which I do I would go with the Belkin pre n, but if I am going around 75 feet. I would use the Belkin N1. These Belkin routers are the BEST far none than everthing else out there. I have tried them all, including those waste of time distance amp antennas. If you want a router that will ALWAYS connect with no drop outs the Belkin is what you want.

The N1 was the first draft 802.11n product to hit the streets using Atheros' xspaN MIMO solution. It advances the state of the draft 11n art in some respects. But it also takes a step backwards in secure WLAN and routing performance. <p>

This router is far and away the best of our test group in design and ease of use, and it has excellent features. But it stumbled badly in long- and midrange performance tests.

Belkin has outdone itself: The N1 router has a slick design and much easier setup process. A removable sticker on the N1 shows you exactly which steps to perform, and the completely redesigned setup program—now with an Apple look and feel—is easier than ever to use. We had the N1 running a few minutes after we unpacked it. Both the Linksys and Buffalo N routers offer one-click options for...

Avoid this one, look elsewhere
Strengths: Looks good, nice display
Weakness: reliability support features
Easy to set up, but crashes all the time, needs reset every day. Also range is not that good. Nortel PVN does not work and Belkin support is not answering emails concernig it. I guess they don't have a fix. This is the last Belkin product I ever bought.
