Strengths: Easy to SetUp. Excellent Signal Strength. Good Value for Money if you can shop around.
Weakness: If You want to Increase the Range You cannot change the Antenna. Din't like the Web Interface
I already had F5D7230-4 Model and I liked it, so naturally I was temped to buy this one with more speed. Really I don't see much difference between the two, except that it is a bit faster than the regular 802.11g model for networking. The Performance for Wireless Internet access is Good. I didn't have any dropped calls till now. Setup was a breeze. So far I am happy with the Purchase.
Strengths: Fairly easy setup, security options
Weakness: Web interface flakey, signal strength
I use this router on a dsl connection. So far I have not had any dropped connections or needed a restart of any kind. I will say that the signal is fair to good. I can usually get a signal of about -65dB (using the broadcom link status meter) about 35ft. away from the router (through 3 standard drywall, 2x4 interior walls). This is about the same as using the wireless connection on a Westell...
Strengths: Excellent as a cable modem
Weakness: may not be asa DSL wireless router
The Belkin High-Speed Wrls. G Router works excellent as a cable modem wireless router, but not as a DSL wireless router.I put the Belkin wireless router in my house where I have Cable modem connection and works awesome! I have discover that the Belkin wireless Router is designed specially for cable modem connection but have technical problems with the DSL Protocols from providing companies, so in...
Strengths: Better signal than my other routers, good performance sometimes, easy to setup
Weakness: Doesn't work with bittorent programs, slows down sometimes,
The wireless signal is not bad I owned Linksys wrt54gs and this router has stronger signal than that router, maybe not stronger but my laptop doesn't disconnect that much. I was using bittorent program with this router and for some reason once bittorent reach certain speed, router would casue internet to turn off and eventually to slow it down. Even after bittorrent was shut down internet was...
Strengths: Signal Range is Excellent, I pick up Very Good to Excellent connection throughout a 2000 sq foot house. The interface is easy to work with. It supports TKIP WPA-PSK security. Guarantee and Support A++
Weakness: Wish it had removeable antennas but it's not too hard to make your own. It's cheaper and better anyway. :)
No dropped signals on a PC running at the 125HSM mode with the Belkin card or a notebook running 54g mode or another computer that's connecting to the 10/100 port. Speed seems good for me. Be aware that if you have one 54g non-HSM wireless device on the net it will take the whole net to 54g. This is normal but it's something that should be understood beforehand. Always secure your router, set...
Strengths: Very easy to setup. Good Belkin tech support.
Weakness: Between the router and the "high-speed mode" cards we are not really reaching the speeds as advertised. Has stopped responding once requiring a manual restart.
This product is very easy to setup. The speed was somewhat lacking in terms of advertised 108 Mbps. Overall a very functional access point with good Belkin customer service. Compared to our Sonicwall products which, we pay a yearly support for, Belkin's tech support is free, on time, and has always been helpful.
Strengths: Installation was easy to setup. Works well with other Belkin Wireless products. Had decent signal strength in my apartment.
Weakness: Did not like to cooperate with the D-Link wireless G notebook card that I had.
As long as you stick with Belkin wireless cards, this router will work well. Had mixed signal reception with D-Link wireless card that I had. Your mileage will vary.
Strengths: Range is sufficent for my apartment. The speed is fine. Easy web interface for modifying settings. Great Price.
Weakness: 1.Easy web interface shows everything for your network even secured. If not secured, everyone within the range can modify your settings remotely. It scared me a lot. 2.MAC filtering doesn't work.
I bought it in thanksgiving. Lots of problems so far. The easy setup doesn't work for me with DSL modem. Default firewall setting is weird. Security is terrible. Consider switching to another brand now. Not recommend to anybody.
Strengths: Easy installation.
Weakness: Limited usefulness outside of internet sharing.
I was looking for a wireless means to share and transfer files between a multimedia computer in the living room, used for video recording and viewing, and an office computer used for video editing and saving to dvd. The Belkin F5D7231-4 router is NOT the solution, even matched with the high speed PCI adapters. Following the installation instructions, everything hooked up fine, but transfer rates...

Belkin Wireless G+ Router
Strengths: Simple and effective out of the box, reasonable performance (but not outstanding), WDS support, low cost (if you shop carefully for rebates)
Weakness: Non-detachable antenna, no email alerts, can't disable wireless, no DDNS support, only "pseudo" static IP assignments, no xmit power (or other wireless)adjustments.
I've owned this model and several of the Belkin 54G F5D7230-4 routers. Take my word for it, the ONLY functional difference between this F5D7231-4 and the F5D7230-4 is, the former has *theorectically* double the performance. But the features and interface are virtually identical, so much so, you can easily mistake one for the other should you have both on your network (like I do). Frankly, the HSM...
