Strengths: price AR
Weakness: heat
Good mid range card, excellent price, sub-par cooling. with registration you get a 1-year warranty from EVGA, so thats a plus. the only thing holding back this card from being a 5 is the heating problem, It just gets way too hot, and requires a 3rd vga cooler.
Strengths: Good performance with Dual-DVI/HDTV/S-video output at good price
Weakness: 128bit is a bit disappointing.
It works good in all the applications I had including most of the current games. Also there are a few of good accessaries included in the package. Another important factor is the price was very good when I bought it from Buy.com. At that price it's absolutely a good buy. I would recommend to anyone who uses the computer just for common applications.
Strengths: Good for most 3D games. 256MB GDDR3 1 ns video memory. Dual-DVI/HDTV/S-video output. Nice accessaries.
Weakness: No significant advantage in performance in general applications and most games compared with 8600GT. Newer generation cards are on market now with better price.
The card is good for general applications or most 3D games. Lots of accessaries are included in package: DVI/VGA adapter, S-Video cable, HDTV cable. For general users, I recommend the 8600GT card, which can fulfil most assignments as same as this card at lower prices. At the same price level or for a little more, you may consider the newer generation Geforce 9600GT series.
Strengths: Decent performance. Compatible with Vista. Good value after rebate.
Weakness: Cheap fan
Decent performance for the money. It functions well in an SLI configuration if you have two. It is so powerful that it plays every game I throw. A set of video and power cables are included in the package(No extra money needed). In addition, I like its solid look and feel. Last, although 60 days have passed, it is still quite reliable.
Strengths: DirectX 10, HDTV,GDDR3, HDCP
Weakness: 128 bit
Works with Vista with recent drivers. This card is well worth the price with rebate for most builds except serious gamers. Rebates from PNY are very quick. This graphics card is very fast and would make for an excellent Vista HTPC computer. Price has fallen enough to put into non-gamer builds.
Strengths: Plays Wow at max settings 30-60fps. Great card.
Weakness: Runs a little hot
Not much better than a 7600gt. Should have been a bigger upgrade than i thought. Runs real hot even when i exchanged the thermal paste on it with arctic mx-2. Runs pretty quiet though.
Strengths: Good performance on most games, Direct X 10, Output connections
Weakness: Price
Overall a good card, but still kind of expensive. Great for HTPC build because of the outputs. Gaming is pretty good on this card. Card is quiet so another plus for HTPC.
Strengths: fast and quiet
Weakness: so hot while running game
Runs everything smooth. Half Life 2 Half Life 2: Episode 1 Half Life 2: Episode 2 Team Fortress 2 Portal BioShock UT3 Demo Time Shift Demo This card can run all these game on max without breaking a sweat. Full anti-alias and full anisotropic filtering. Only one concern is temperature. The GPU temp is little hot up to 64 C. My old card is XFX GeForce 7600GS which is very cool and quiet. Anyway i...
Strengths: 3yr warranty from PNY Great for gaming (best bang for your bucks)
Weakness: it's not free fan may be a little loud (but you got to get the heat out)
I got this for my HTPC built by Dell. So far it works flawlessly with BluRay movies, connected to my 47" LCD TV at 1080p. I rarely play game, but I tried Unreal Tournament, all setting at high and it still run smooth. Now my vista grade is 5.9 on graphics which is the highest possible...what more can you ask for. Also the 3 yr warranty is nice, as it probably will last for as long as you are...
The GeForce 8600 GTS is a mid-range model in Nvidias 8 series of consumer desktop graphics cards. Its specifications should enable it to handle less demanding games and perform adequately on lower settings in more demanding graphics applications released in 2009. It features 256 MB of GDDR3 memory, SLI-readiness allowing dual GPU setups, and GigaThread technology, which aims to increase...

PNY 8600GTS Video Card
Strengths: Video, Gaming Performance
Weakness: none
This is still an excellent performing card for casual gamers and home theater enthusiasts. except for the latest games this should handle most games at close to max resolutions. its not noisy and works well with latest drivers from Nvidia website.
