Strengths: Multi monitor support, excellent 3D gaming performance for the price.
ATI RADEON 9600XT is an evolutionary wonder that makes an excellent multimedia graphics card providing a wide range of features. 3D gaming performance is very good as the card is based on the Radeon 9600 Pro but with a higher memory clock. Video captures were straightforward and very clean. For gamers on a tighter budget, the RADEON 9600 XT offers the best value. This is the highest-performance...
Strengths: Great performance for the money. Best midrange video to date!
Weakness: None that I can think of...
Awesome video card. Great perfromance. Superb driver support for basically any game. I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a high quality video card that's under $200 and performs close to a high-end card.
Strengths: Great Card, Great Graphics, Many Resolution Options, Great for Games.
Weakness: Confusing between "Built by ATI" and "Powered by ATI"
Theres are basically 2 types of ATI Radeon Video Cards. On the box the item will either say: 1. There's a "Built by ATI". Which means that the Video Card has all ATI parts and was put together by ATI. This card is covered under the ATI warranty. So for any problems you would contact ATI. The "Built by ATI" Video card is the ATI Radeon 9600 XT, 128 MB, etc, etc... 2. There's a "Powered by ATI"....
Strengths: Good card for the money.
Weakness: Does not properly recognize mmx architecture, direct x components.
Even though this card does not recognize the above mentioned issues it has performed very well. It is one of the few good cards you can buy that does not require a separate power wire or a 300 watt power supply. ATI's tech support leaves a lot to be desired. When you email them with the problems they send a list to go over. After going over the list and emailing them back while experiencing the...
Strengths: price, performance, drivers
Weakness: none
I did a lot of research on cards when I built my latest computer and this is definitely the best card you can get for the price. Great performance on every game I own and it barely gets hot even after overclocking. Free HL2 also, you can't go wrong.
Strengths: Not only is this the nicest looking card out of the box, it makes my display breathtaking. I could only say WOW! Half Life2 is a mega bonus! Installation was easy, and ATI support site excellent.
Weakness: I have to wait for Half Life2 and my MB is only 4XAGP!
I thought that getting a Sony Wega 34" widescreen TV for Xbox and PS2 was going to take me to the top, but having the 9600XT showed me there are a few more rungs on the ladder. This is truly an exceptional card for the money!
Strengths: Easy to install, this XT Model outperforms the ATI RADEON 9600 PRO. Comparing XT to Pro model, Engine Clock Speed:500 to 400 mHz, Pixel FillRate 2.0 to 1.6 Gpixel/sec, both same affordable price.
Weakness: It does not come with 256 MB DDR Frame Buffer.
I upgraded my video card from MAD DOG Ge-Force 4 MX440, 64 MB to the ATI Radeon XT. I install this card in the Dell Server Poweredge 400 SC, Pentium 4 2.4 GHz machine, with only 256 MB Ram. The lightning speed of the 9600 XT absolutely magnificent for video game lovers, the video movement smooth and responsive to manuevering commands. The price slightly higher by $20-$30 with the Pro. Note also,...
Strengths: I love this card! 8x AGP 128mb, fast clock speeds, nice price
Weakness: color management is not easy to adjust.
Great card for the money! FPS speeds doubled. I upgraded from a G3 ti200. Picture clarity is great! Games run so much smoother now. Why pay 400 when 200 will get you so close. I highly recommend. A friend went with the Nvidia 5700ultra and it cant keep up with mine on DX9 games.
Strengths: Beautiful card, installed easy, provides gorgeous graphics. Similar performance to the 9600 Pro, but with slightly higher clock speeds.
Weakness: Worse than 9800 XT. Nothing else I can think of.
This is a great card. one of the best card at this price. All i can say is that this card is worth every penny.

ATI RADEON 9600 XT Graphics Card
Strengths: After an easy installation, card performed to my satisfaction. Good value for money, about 50 dollars cheaper than Nvidias best equivalent video card. Exellent graphics and texturing of bitmaps.
Weakness: The installation manual does not specify if your motherboard has a GART driver already you do not have to change it, ie. put a new GART driver in it. I was not able to connect to Ali to update.
This is my second video card to date. The first was Nvidia Ge Force 2 MX400, (mediocre performance compared to the 9600 XT), this one (9600 XT) absolutely pleased me to the hilt. Every game I have played it on has had double the quality of my first Nvidia card and the frame rates were also about double. Good job by ATI. I cant wait for the CATALYST 3.9 drivers to come out in November so I can try...
