Strengths: Very inexpensive and works fine for short periods.
Weakness: Flash Drive gets hot after being left the PC for more than a hour. One of the two purchased in May died by thermal meltdown. I have request a RMA but haven't received a reply from Transcend.
Do not leave plugged in for a more than a hour, drive will become very warm and may overheat! I will comment on their service when a new drive arrives, hopefully.

Weakness: slow speed
The design of this flash drive is sleek and elegand. But the rate at which it copies files is relatively slow. It usually takes about fifteen minutes to put 1.5 GB of data on it. In addition, if it is left plugged into the computer for a long time (more than 1 hour) it gets very hot. The price is not bad. So if time is not an issue to you, I would recommend it.

I had not really shopped aroind for this, but I saw the price and went ahead and bought it and I am impressed with its performance. BTW, I have not had any overheating issues.

This is a very small and light USB flash drive with 2 GB capacity. A cap is very secure to protect the plug. The drive is recognized by Win XP PCs with no problem. It was very inexpensive for this class of USB flash drive. I am very happy with this drive. Nice combination of price and performance.

I have several other USB flash drives of whcih a couple are not always recognized the 1st time. Granted it's just a matter of unplugging and reinstalling the problem device to initialize but I've never once had that issue with the Transced 2 GB USB flash drive. Transcend makes an excellent Flash Drive Product. I've had a retractable 1GB for 2 years and never had any issues. I've been using this 2 GB Flash everyday for over a week and am very satisfied. The Drive is quick, self installs on the computer and has 2 GB of memory. I highly recommend this reliable product and at this price, you cannot beat it
