Sony 4GB MicroVault Flash Drive

Strengths: 1) Reliable, fast 2) Large enough capacity for daily usage to store and transfer almost anything 3) Sleek, trendy design

Weakness: 1) Loses ~200MB to file system. 2) Leaves a little more to be desired (in regards to the build-quality/feel) when compared to Sandisk Titanium series

I've been using this product for a couple of days now. Thus far, it has proven to be reliable and fast. The generous 4gb is more than enough for my purposes, as I use this drive mainly to transport documents between the office and home. Another purpose that this drive serves for me is to transfer media files between computers at home. With such a large capacity, this drive is perfect for the...

Sony 4GB

Strengths: Sony design

Weakness: n/a

People say it slow and needs to be formated - well, my Sony Vaio took it in about five seconds and did not asked me to format anything - drive works flawlessly and it has a touch of Sony design. Somehow Sony did not include a neck strap - drive has a loop for the strap, so I used one from the camera - Sony's saving tactics - I guess. Otherwise the drive is great. Highly recommend!

Sony 4GB MicroVault Classic USB 2 Flash Drive

Strengths: No cap, sliding USB connection Good storage size

Weakness: No carrying strap Slower than other drive

I can confirm that this is a slow drive in the as-received condition. It took 5 min. to transfer a 700Mb AVI movie, my other 2GB Memorex drive did it in 50 seconds. I haven't try to reformat it yet. I was also a bit annoyed that Sony won't even toss in a strap, all my other drives came standard with it. Other than that its not a bad drive.

Slow as molasses - avoid this drive

Strengths: High capacity

Weakness: Data transfer rate is incredibly slow

I bought this drive about the same time as a SanDisk cruzer 4 GB drive. The differences between the two are striking - the Sony microvault is the slowest drive I have ever seen. Copying files to the drive and deleting files from the drive takes forever. Using a USB 2.0 connection it is 15s per 1MB- with USB 1.0, you can expect about 30 sec per 1 MB. It is so slow that it is not suited for daily...

Sony 4GB MicroVault USB Flash Drive

Strengths: Large storage, nice design, readyboost available, slide-in-out design.

Weakness: Slightly slower than my other USB drives.

Overall this is a high quality USB Flash Drive. The design by Sony is very nice, with the slide-in-out usb, there are no caps to lose. The speed is slightly slower than my 4GB Sandisk Cruiser but it's not too noticable. I paid less than $25 for mine, so I can't really complain, the full price at the time of purchase was $80, which was too high.

Sony 4GB MicroVault USB Flash Drive

Strengths: It has a very nice design, it is flat so it fits with other cables that are already plugged into the usb port and overall it is a nice drive to have. It is also quite fast.

Weakness: I can't think of any.

It is fast enough to work as ReadyBoost drive for Windows Vista, even if it is not specifically outlined on the box. I really like this drive because it has a flat shape - so it doesn't collide with other cables that are plugged into the usb port. It is very eye-catching and it works very well. I'd recommend it to everyone.

Another excellent product marked SONY

Strengths: high storage-nice design

Weakness: somehow like any other SONY product expensive

Vista drives install recognition take seconds . High storage - I remember few years back when laptop Hard Drives were 4GB . File compression/decompression installed on the device works as advertised .Very nice feature . Vista boost works as well but I haven't seen it anywhere advertised . Very slick design and as well nice USB pull out-in feature .

4GB Microvault

Strengths: Lots of room

Weakness: Large compared to Cruzer, slow

I was able to pick up this 4GB microvault for a great price, and I'm glad I did. You will notice that it is slow, but if you turn off the "expander" function, and reformat the drive as NTFS, you will see a significant speed improvement. The drive itself is much longer than the Cruzer equivalent. Like the Cruzer, it has no cap, instead the usb connector slides in & out of the housing. I like that...

Sony 4gb usb drive

Strengths: Great little drive, tons of storage and very easy to use.

Weakness: none

Overall this is a great drive, plenty of storage for you pictures and music file backups. This drive was easy to use with Vista just plug in and drag and drop. Overall very pleased.

Okay product...

Strengths: Cool looking, cheap and trustworthy brand.

Weakness: Not so fast, very basic (nothing fancy).

There are many better products out there. However, this is product is a pretty good deal. It will get you by for your day to day storage needs. Compact and easy to take around.
