Strengths: Pretty fast in transfer
Weakness: None that I could see
I opened this drive and plugged it to my computer - and Lo and Behold! It worked right off the box - literally! I wanted to see if it can take in a huge file so I did some transfers of files that were
Strengths: 8gb! reliable, small (for its capacity), durable
Weakness: color
I have been using this for over a month. This thing works seemlessly with Windows XP. For a 8gb device it does it job and have not had any issues. Highly recommended. Color isnt the best but it aint half bad since a bright white usb is harder to lose.
Strengths: Can be purchased online currently for less than $35. Holds a ton of data. Read-write speeds are acceptable. Performance can be improved by reformatting from FAT32 to NTFS format.
Weakness: The plastic casing doesn't appear to be very sturdy. However, if the user handles the drive carefully, particularly when inserting into or removing from a USB port, there shouldn't be a problem.
Initially, I was attracted to this unit because of its low price and large storage capacity. I can place enough information on this small flash drive to burn and fill a data DVD (ca. 4.5GB) and then some! This has become my preferred method for long-term data storage and thereby obviates the need for additional hard disk storage space. My flash drive is being used in conjunction with Windows XP...
Strengths: Small, lightweight USB flash drive. Not expensive. Fast enough.
Weakness: Build from plastic body does not make it feel very secure. Does not include strap.
I bought this flash drive as a replacement of broken. This drive is remarkably smaller and lighter than others. Does not have any lamps-flashs in it. I like an idea to hold cap on the other side of the drive. It is very slim and fits in any USB port without any obvious obstruction. Plastic body is a little suspicious. I am not sure it will be in this condition very long. Well it is white too. Get...
Strengths: enough data storage size, small size, not exprensive
Weakness: cap is not conneted to the body, plastic body
The price is cheap and acceptable, speed is okay, but not very fast.Although cap is sperate, but is can hold tightly with the body. Generally speaking, its worthy to have one.
Strengths: Great price
Weakness: Doesn't work
I loaded a lot of information this drive and lost any changes of it twice. I reformatted the drive and loaded it again. Again, I lost information. I give up! If you can't trust data storage, trash it. Don't buy it! Junk!
Strengths: fast, huge and cheap!
Weakness: Cap design, no free lanyard..
For the price that you can find this online for there should be no reason for you to own several. Transfer rates are good and 8gb is plenty of room. As for the complaints about color..it is a usb drive not a show car...pull it out of your pocket plug it in and GO!
Strengths: Small, works seemlessly with WinXP, works with my Phillips DVD player via USB.
Weakness: Does not support a single file that is over 4GB. (pretty much all USB memory sticks will have this problem)
Very good tool if you transfer multiple files from computer to computer. The driver is easily recognize by Windows. Copying a divx file to watch on my dvd player via USB was an easy task with this memory stick. One thing that it lacks is that it does not support a single file that is over 4GB. (pretty much all USB memory sticks will have this problem) I highly recommend this product.
Strengths: It very fast. It’s almost impossible to loose the cap.
Weakness: The overall design is a bit flimsy. It may not last.
So far, I have found the Data Traveler very easy to use. It is very fast. I use it to download files at the end of a day. I never wait long. It has a very sleek look. However, it’s definitely not very sturdy. Don’t know how long it will last. A friend told me that his got bent as it was being removed from the USB. However, due to the price, I would still recommend it.
The Kingston DataTraveler is a base model USB flash drive from Kingston’s DataTraveler Series. It works with Windows, Macintosh, and Linux operating systems, but it does not support Windows ReadyBoost. It’s meant to be an affordable, convenient, and easy-to-carry solution for users needing to store, carry, or transfer files quickly. It’s in fact no larger than a pocketknife and...

Prices keep getting lower
Strengths: capacity, ease of set-up and use
Weakness: none
I remember it was not that long ago that getting a 512MB flash drive for $20 was a good deal. Then a 1GB for $10 was a bargain. The prices keep getting cheaper for these portable storage devices and the capacity keeps increasing. This can be had for around $20 and in another year that will be much lower. This has 8GB of storage which is plenty of space for the average user. The transfer rate is...
