Strengths:  Good Price. Easy to install and operate.
Weaknesses:  The cable that was included did not work. It was a very tight fit in the DV port of my camera, and did not make a reliable connection.
Review:  I had purchased a name brand firewire cable at a retail store to replace the defective one that was included. The device has worked with no problems since then. Consider purchasing a unit without an included (cheap and defective) cable. I have not used the included editing software as of yet.

Review:  We purchased 2 of these cards and easily installed them on both computers running Windows XP. However, we were disappointed that the software that comes with them is basically a gimic to try and sell you an upgraded product for another $40!!

Strengths:  Plug in and self install.
Weaknesses:  Might lack power for some attachments such as a printer
Review:  Used to salvage a laptop with bad USB ports from mother board problem. It was scrap it or get this PC card, which salvaged the computer. Do expect to need a powered USB splitter to run a printer, but still cheaper than a new computer.

Weaknesses:  None yet.
Review:  I bought this card since my Mac (using OS X 10.3.x aka Panther) didn't have USB 2 ports and I just got new scanner that uses USB 2. Installing took less than 2 minutes. Just opened the case and plugged it into a PCI slot and screwed it in. That's all! I didn't even need to install any driver. It works like a charm. The card was $14.66 with free shipping! :)

Weaknesses:  Crashed Win XP Pro when installed.
Review:  Wasn't the smoothest install. Didn't seem to take the first time I installed the software off the disk. Crashed my Win XP Pro at least twice. Wasn't reading devices at first. Shutdown a few times and seems to be working fine now. Don't know why, but as long as it works! I think the drivers were causing the problems.

Strengths:  The product works
Weaknesses:  I'm not sure it is what I ordered. Nothing on the firewire card indicated the product brand.
Review:  These firewire cards work. but there is nothing on the card or in the packageing that indicates that it is the brand card I ordered. The cards were delivered in a timely manner and pagaged ok. The firewire cables that came with the cards weren't standard firewire cables, one end had a mini-connector, totally unusable to me.
