Strengths: It's good and cheap.
Weakness: I want to have a remote.
It is easy to use and has high quality pictures. It works on nearly every kind of systems. You can use your keyboard to control the channels and voice. It is not expensive for its functions.
Strengths: no probs installing, works as expected
Weakness: none so far
have one in my machine. so easy to use think that my 10 yo son can use it to capture his pokemon/dragonball z/shaolin showdown episodes and later convert to dvds
Strengths: My picture is great. The Picture quality is Great. The Ability to pause and record live TV is awsome. No problems installing either. Space Saving!
Weakness: None That I have experienced
My picture is great. I noticed the ability to adjust the picture quality ... but mine worked great out of the box. I like having a TiVO like recording & playback capabilities for very little money . And it is great not to have the clutter of a TV and a PC in the same room! Also Great for Dorms!
Strengths: Lots of features
Weakness: Remote could be better
Hauppauge has been known to make good tv tuner products and this is no exception. Hauppauge claims that "WinTV processes the video without requiring help from your PC's CPU, so your computer continues to run at full speed while WinTV is operating." When I tried to multitask my applications with viewing tv, I did not notice any performance difference for those applications. Hence, I would have to...
Strengths: I can watch TV with this card
Weakness: not found yet
It is easy to install the TV tuner card, and friendly the software, for this cheap price, this card is really good. I still have to learn more to know how to use it.
Strengths: Great pic Cheap PVR
Weakness: No comments
I have installed it this week. Will comeback with my comments soon. My first impression is that it has good pic quality. One of my friends has another version of Win TV. I shall chek out and give a detailed report.
Strengths: Easy to install, great tech support
Weakness: Not the best picture, remote wouldn't work.
I have not had time to mess with this very much, but so far it does what I want it to. Initially, I had problems with the WinTv remote/sensor. I had to have a new one sent to me, but the tech support people were super nice. It was very easy to get the problem taken care of. My husband does not like to watch sports on it because the quick moving players have streaks behind them. The picture is not...
Strengths: Easy to install. Hauppauge quality.
Weakness: Scheduling a recording could be improved by allowing for smaller minute increments.
I'm not one for reading documentation and this tuner is easy to install and operate without doing so. The clarity of the picture depends on your reception. It serves my purpose well - which is to have certain shows I want to watch available on my PC while I multitask. A very good value for the price.
Strengths: Video quality not bad for a cheapy analog tuner, price is good, setup is quick, and is compatible on Vista.
Weakness: Can't get it to use a signal from coaxial from my cable box, which is in it's supported list. That is ridiculous. Have to run it through composite video.
No coaxial usage makes it useless with an antenna, but using composite gives great video quality, so it's a trade-off. Oh, and about the specs stating that it supports 1600x1200 resolution... sure, it can take still pics that big, but as for video, it ain't happening. Above 640x480, it gets pixelated. Not so bad if you're sitting far away, but if you're in front of the screen, like you normally...
Good Hardware but Horrid Software and documentation
Strengths: Great Hardware, Good Clarity, ease of Installation (both card and IR)
Weakness: Absolutely despicable documentation that I can only surmise was written in 1982 and NEVER updated, even by monkeys PVR Software included also hasn't been updated since 2000 it seems.
Okay, I received this as a present and it is a really good card and does its job fantastically to view tv and use its accompanying remote. HOWEVER... - The Docmumentation looks like it was written in the early 80's and never updated. - The PVR Software is very finicky about encoding and will not allow you to encode with DIVX properly from the getgo, preferring to use its own 5.0 codecs. - The...
