I bought these to write data dvds and have had no issues whatsoever. They are rated to burn at 16x and have no issues in my 4x DVD burner. They are easy to mark with Sharpies as well for indexing files. No reason not to get this HP media and they are reasonably priced to boot.

Strengths: Lives up to 16x read/write speed. Zero failure. Price competitive.
Weakness: I would prefer a light surface color, silver vs the mustard yellow on the HP media I purchased.
I use large quantities of DVD R material for various applications including data, image and video storage. This purchase replaced a 100 stack of TDK 16x. The HP was every bit as fast and reliable and came at at substantially lower price.
Strengths: It's fast, up to 16x. It's reliable, used for over 30 discs, never had problem to find the data. Also used it for creating DVD Movie, no any problem replaying on at my two DVD-Players.
Weakness: The package was dirty, when I picked it up at store. The disc surface is on orange, not good to write the notes on it.
It's a very good product, if you want to backup your data or create DVD movies. I'm very happy with the speed. The disc itself is clean, looks like a high quality product (it is!), just like other IT product from HP. Very good price, below $10. I will highly recommend it.

These are very reliable DVD+R. I have not failed copying to these discs. At maximum, my drive writes at close to 16x. These are usually slightly more expensive than other brands. Non-writing face of the discs has orange color.
