My product research for portable speakers yielded any number of glowing reviews of speakers that "sound great!" and are "not tinny!" and so forth. Have you ever noticed that audio quality is not something you can trust others to judge? I was expecting to be amazed and pleased by a decent sound coming from a small object. Strengths: Compact and small is the key to the desirability of this product. The overall quality of the sysytem is excellent. The batter and power cord adapter features was the bigeast reason for purchase.
Weakness: It is only as good and the output system to which it is attached. For a lap top or other computers, as well as other audio systems the ouput quality will depend on the ouput system.
I would highly recommend this item to anyone who is on the road and must keep the amount of wieght to a minimum. Especially for those who travel with lap tops and who can relate to the hasels of carring your speakers with you. Not only does this item work well with the computer but is an excellent addition to a walkman and outher personal audio devices.
Strengths: Small, compact and loud
This is a great product. It is a stop up from the SRS-T77. This product is a little bit thinner and longer. It is a better design that the SRS-T77. It sounds great for a portable speaker. You can even use this to watch movies in a small room with a small group of people. It may not have the bass compared to a system with a subwoofer, but it does the job for just a small portable speaker.

Weakness: Different colors would be nice
The speakers are used primarily with an iPod and have great sound quality. I considered buying the Altec Lansing setup for the iPod but it was too expensive and physically larger. I am extremely with the Sony product and would highly recommend it to anyone.

Sony SRS-T88 Travel Speakers
Strengths: Small size; works on batteries, ac adapter or even with no power. Small dimensions, weight. Ideal for carrying it around
Weakness: A little on the pricey side. Speakers cannot be individually oriented, like in other Sony models.
Bought this as an add-on to my iPod for when I'm travelling. I discovered that I also like to connect it to my laptop for better sound. Powered sound is good, considering such a small device. At maximum volume I was afraid I was disturbing people in the next room. Operated in powerless mode is just adequate, but in an emergency is ok, I suppose. I wish one was able to orient the two speakers...
