Not disappointed at all
Strengths: Loud, small size, sturdy sub woofer case, very good frequency response, good up-mixing.
Weakness: None, other than they aren't sold in the States anymore.
I also purchased the Creative GigaWorks S750 system when they were only a couple months old, and at $500 got a really good price (compaired to what the Creative Singapore site is selling them for ($799.00 on sale). To this date, I haven't experienced any of the problems with the subwoofer that others are reporting. In fact, stupid me, I placed the subwoofer under my computer desk and started...

These speakers are awesome, the...
Strengths: BASS, volume (LOUD and quiet), good surround, upmixing works decently (mp3s still sound like crap, but its SURROUND) ;)
Weakness: As stated elsewhere, lotsa wires, also at low volumes not really fine control, use your software volume cause these change by a few decibels using hardware control.
These speakers are awesome, the fact that I got a great deal back when they first came out didn't hurt. I chose these over the Klipsch offering because there were notable issues with the ProMedia 5.1's at the time and because I like my Audigy 2 (non ZS). :( I have no regrets about buying these speakers, and if I do upgrade to better speakers, it will be using the same sub, see ExtremeTech article...

Creative Gigaworks S750 7.1 Speaker System
Strengths: Spectacular clarity and bass, very low hiss, volume (LOUD and quiet), good surround.
Weakness: N/A
This speaker system is one of the best. It has perfect sound quality, loud yet not overriding bass and ideal highs. I highly recommend this system for any movie fans or gamers...
My only complaint is that the one of the speaker stands was delivered damaged.

That 7.1 is so hot right now
Strengths: control of individual speaker volumes, spectacular clarity and bass, very low hiss, highly adaptable mounting options
Weakness: its fun to find a place to put the sub, speaker wires could be longer, would have been nice to have RCA to miniplug adaptors in the box
I hooked these up to my HP Z555 media center PC directly from the 7.1 RCA plug preouts using RCA to miniplug adaptors, which I had to purchases, would have been nice to have those in the box. The control box allows you to set the levels of each speaker set individually so that you can balance out the performance of the system relative to their placement in the room. The provided wires could have...

Buyer Beware...
Strengths: 7.1 Sound is the wave of the future, a 7.1 home theater system is $1000+. THX Certified Compatible with all X-Fi sound cards
Weakness: Remote Control Lacks Advanced Features you'd expect from this price range. You must have a fairly up to date sound card for 7.1 sound, may not work with your on-board sound. No Digital/Optical plugs
Buy a extended warranty if at all possible...
Creative Labs forum is full of RMA's and complaints of this products subwoofer going bad after 2 months. Also complaints of worse customer service, apparently you have to ship this to them at your own expense, however if there is any problems after the first RMA they will send you a pre-paid shipping label.
