I got this card because I wanted an awesome media experience and gaming experience with my 2-year-old laptop. I currently have this set-up with my 2.1 stereo speakers and it sounds a lot better than my laptop's on-board card. I don't hear anymore crackling when I boost the volume of the laptop. Strengths: Easily installed out of the box with Great sound for your laptop! Great clarity, reliability and performance.
Weakness: You cannot use your laptops internal speakers when this is plugged in and you need to use either earphones or external speakers. Also, the sound card should be removed when transporting the laptop.
I love this sound card. I purchased it primarily so that my sons could use it to record their band music. It does a great job for that. I find that I am enjoying just as well when I watch my movies. This sound card is a 100% improvement over the internal sound card! Now when I watch my movies on DVD, I feel as though I am in a theater.

I love this soundcard. I also hate this soundcard. I love it because when I'm at home, I can just plug in my 5.1 Logitechs and just blast it all the way up. I hate it because its portability is only limited to headphones. You can't combine the soundcard with your laptop speakers. I would give this a 10 in my book, but I just don't feel like it deserves it.
I just installed this last night, and the installation was super easy, and the sound quality is incredible for a notebook.You can also record with it for people who are looking to do that, a big plus. have nothing extra special or unique to add... just want to say that this product does what it says, and it does it very well. What I didn't expect to like most about this card was the recording...

Weakness: There is no weakness except for the fact that it you cannot use your laptop internal speaker when this is plugged in.
I was very pleased with the Audigy 2 ZS Platinum card. I own a dell inspiron and it worked almost flawlessly with my logitech 5.1 speakers. This is a great sound card. I was in the look out for a sound card like this for a long time. However, be aware that you need external speakers or headphones for this card. Otherwise, you need to remove it if you want to use your internal speakers.
Strengths: Audigy EAX Sound for a laptop. Surround Sound Support. Better sound for your games.
Weakness: Having to remove it to pack the laptop, but this happens with all PCMCIA cards.
If you like playing games on your laptop, you will enjoy this upgrade. Before, I had to play games on the laptop with the crappy integrated sound that it brings, now i can have Surround sound, EAX Enhanced sound, that's compatible with my games. Great Buy,
Strengths: Better sound for your laptop!
Weakness: Takes up more system resources. May actually slow down the system for multitasking.
This card is great! It is a bit inconvenient having to take it out when packing up, but that's a minor annoyance. Along with that, I don't like how it sticks out of the side or how there's an extra dongle to connect external speakers for the 7.1 sound. Otherwise, the quality of sound is boosted 110%! I've been enjoying this card.

Weakness: Protrudes quite a bit, proprietary adapter (included) needed for surround sound.
Overall this is probably the best value for upgrading the sound quality of your notebook. I like the fact that creative is so compatible with all the games and that their drivers are also reliable in windows. Installation was a breeze and the sound quality is soooo much better than the noisy integrated junk on my laptop!!

If you want to hear great sound of games or high-quality music from your laptop, I highly recommend this card to you. Before I bought it, my 5.1 speaker system is no more than a 2.1 one because my sound card in laptop doesn't support surround sound. After I bought it, I can really enjoy my music, my movies as well as the my PC games.

Strengths: 7.1 sound. DVD-Audio using the creative software.
Weakness: Many heavy softwares. Stick out of the side (you need to unplug it to put your laptop in the case)
This card will upgrade your cheap laptop sound to a multi-channel sound. As Creative always does, it carrys lots of heavy softwares. It can play DVD-Audio but only by using the included software.
