Strengths: Scan Utilities work well and provide enough options to tailor to my preferences.
Weakness: Using the image enhancement features when scanning increases the scan time for a 35mm negative to almost 6 minutes even at 1350 dpi.
Overall, the scanner works well. It came packaged with both firewire and USB cables and manuals were clear as to how to set-up and use the software. The manual focus feature is a must since the autofocus doesn't seem to get images as clear as it should. It would be nice if it were faster, but I'm happy that it works. I have a collection of detailed Kodachrome 25 slides taken with a Nikon F (yes F!) and Micro-Nikkor 55mm f3.5 shot at f32 anf f45. Very sharp slides. The Minolta captured every bit of detail.
