Strengths: 333 MHZ BUS, Better Overclocks than Palimno
Weakness: $$$
This is great CPU, very good Perfomance! Works great with KT400 Epox motherboard and Rodeon 9700. Also to Overclock this CPU I bought Volcano 9 heatsink. Overall much better perfomance form 266Mhz bus, comparing to my old 1.4Ghz cpu. Very happy the only concern I found is the price.
Strengths: very overclocker friendly! Even for the newbie!
Weakness: none
I have the 2600+ 333mhz barton core default speed is 1.9ghz but I have mine running at 2.2ghz easily using front side bus only and no voltage increases very stable. I have 3200+ speeds for a fraction of the costs! I reccomend this processor.
Strengths: Strong AMD CPU one of their BEST! Great Price! Increased FSB speed is what I was looking for. Now I've got it.
Weakness: NONE
Great overclocker! A gamers delight! Now I'm saving the money for the AMD 64-FX51. By the time I get it saved hopefully the price will come down on it....
I have not got my 2600+ at this time but you can beleave that I'm going to. If preformance is as good as my 1800+ and I know it will be than I cant wate.I know that the 333 FSB will be a big change over the 266 that I have now. I just build'it my new computer and I have the KT400 chip set that has up to 333 FSB. As for the price of $99,on Neoseeker I can't see how you can do much better. When I...
Strengths: Powerfull processor, as fast as P4 2400
Weakness: very unstable, generate too much heat.
This is my second experiences with a AMD CPU. I had a K6-233 before and it was great. At first sight this CPU supprised me since it was faster than my P4 2.0G. After 1 hour, it became unstable. It took me long time to recognize it was a overheating issue. I bought a $9.00 fan and it seems to be a good one. I don't know the AMD XP needs BIG BIG fan to work. Now I know why AMD can not sell their...
Strengths: stability
Weakness: none
In my opinion this is the best of the xp series. I've owned 1800paliminos, 2100 t-breds, 1700 t-breds,and a 2400 t-bred, and this is the best proc by far!
AMD Athlon XP 2600+ 2.13 GHz Processor
Strengths: Good value for money (£50 + VAT). Powerful. c/w AMD heatsink and good multi-lingual installation instructions.
Weakness: Getting it out of the plastic box. Locked multiplier.
The AMD AthlonXP 2600+ very easy to install, but I'm disappointed with locked 11.5× multiplier with PC2700 DDR SDRAM giving 1.91GHz instead of the expected 2.08GHz. I'm using an Epox EP-8K3A+ mo-bo. The CPU temp is steady between 42º-46° - about 4º less than my previous AthlonXP 1900+ - but the under-clocking may account for the slightly lower than expected temperatures. Photoshop7 and...
