Strengths: A real bargain when purchased as a cpu/motherboard combo deal with free shipping. Does everything I want to do. Built in virus protection. Runs cool compaired to quad processors. 64 bit cpu.
Weakness: Dual processor only.
I bought this cpu with a motherboard as a combo deal, saving me an additional $15 and free shipping. I built a home theater PC, so I needed it to be fast enough to be compatible with Blu-ray and to run cool enough so it wouldn't be too loud from fans running. Not the fastest cpu out there, but it does everything I want it to do.
A middle of the road option in the AMD lineup, the AMD Athlon 5400+ can handle whatever you throw at it competently. Strengths: well...
Weakness: not so good as Intel Core2Duo in performance/money ratio
I bought it when its price was around 270 bucks. At that time, it was an ok deal, because its benchmark was positioned between Intel's E6600 and E6400, each of their prices was $330 and $250. Now Intel's C2Ds have many good deals that AMD X2 chips cannot beat... 5400 works stable and well. But I cannot recommend it to people, because Intel's C2Ds are better deals...
