The Affordable Samsung ML-1610 Monochrome Laser Printer

Strengths: Cheap price for a basic laser printer. It's very fast and the toner will last much longer than a regular inkjet printer.

Weakness: It has no support for Macs. Loud on startup, but gets quieter. Only comes with a starter toner which will last 1000 pages compared to a regular toner that will last 3000 pages.

Buy this laser printer if you need something fast and affordable but don't need color prints or high-quality prints. No Mac support unfortunately, you'll need to purchase a higher model such as the Samsung ML-2010 for that.

My first laser printer

Strengths: Affordable price.

Weakness: Doesn't support Macintosh. Only 600*600 resolution.

This is my first laser printer. I bought it for my personal use. Installation is a breeze. It works without any problem so far. Allthough its resolution is only 600*600, but for the price (less than $30 for me), I can bear it. Supports Windows and various Linux. I'm happy with it.

Samsung ML-1610 XAA home printer; great laser quality at a ink-jet price!

Strengths: This amazing low cost LED laser printer costs less than 2 reloaded inkjet cartridges and prints more than two inkjet cartridges. Connecting to USB port and my PC running Windows 2000 detected it and installed drivers for the printer automatically.

Weakness: GASP! I just found out the SASM-1610D2 laser toner cartridge costs $60. It confirms my theory that printer manufacturers make their money from the supplies. Toner estimates 2000 pages so if I get 1500 pages, that should last me a year.

If your USB cable is 6' is too short, DO NOT use an extension USB cable. I had noise problems in loosing parts of page. Bought a 10' and the noise went away. There were no problems with using the 6' USB extension on my SD card reader.

charged Cartridge quality print in 600*600 DPI

Strengths: low price, nice desgin with ugly samsung logo

Weakness: low level black & thin print in all fonts size & be too worse in small fonts that seem be copied as print!!! ,no network option!!! only 50 sheet out tary!!! very noisy

I don't recomanded this low quality printer, the quality is level as laser but when I compare to HP print quality its too far, I see low level black degree & fonts is too thin ,thats may for low quality toner & drum, I also show some printed page to other technician & they say , the print quality is not as level as print quality with a new Cartridge!!! also the print quality in 300*300 is toooooooooo worse and very differ to 600*600

this is the only printer in the world that have only 50 sheet in output tray!!!

it also too noisy & have no network option & only one USB 1.1 that compatible to USB2.0!!! (as I read on the printer box avdertise)


I so wonder when I many times see samsung logo in recomanded in printer review sites

only buy LCD,RAM,DLP & Digital receiver from samsung

good printer

Strengths: low cost. bright color and quiet

Weakness: a little bit slow

This is really good low cost laser printer. I used it for 2 month and it suffice all my requirements. The color is bright and uniform. It is also not noise. If the the speed is faster, it would be a perfect printer
