Strengths: Speed, compact, versatility, ethernet, multi-page document feeder
Weakness: The front panel display light stays on always, the rear access door if loose or not closed properly can sometimes cause paper mis-feed problems, and the software is not so cleverly designed.
This is a great all-in-one printer. It installed easily and quickly on a Mac OSX 10.4.9 ethernet network (manual IP settings). I have only used plain copy paper and inkjet paper with impressive results, the latter being the best quality. It prints really quickly and scans quick enough. I have not used the fax feature yet. The memory card slots and usb port are handy. The ink cartridges are easy...
Strengths: Very fast, easy to install, network ready
Weakness: A bit pricey
The HP6300 is amazing! The Ethernet card, allows for wireless printing throughout the house. The versatility of the machines allows me to fax, copy (black & white/ Color). This is a must buy
Strengths: speedy and high Res.
Weakness: volume too big
A nice designed machine. Everything is good except the bulb volume. But for a $89 value, I can say nothing. It comes out with 4800 x 1200 psi at color printing and 4800 x 2400 psi at scanning. Good all-in-one solution!
Strengths: Smooth setup, clear directions, and with one re-boot everything worked as it should. Color on plain paper seems good.
Weakness: HP website is not designed for Macs, and seem to reference Windows for all trouble shooting.
As noted after one reboot everything functioned as it should. I did hop onto the HP site and download the latest software and drivers, again smooth installation. The unit is a bit noisier for scanning than I would like, but then I sit right next to it. The networking is great and allows me to access all functions through my WiFi setup. Time will of course tell on the ink consumption, but I prefer...
Strengths: There are many great additional features
Weakness: not sure yet
Wow. I just received the printer and am impressed with it. It was a snap to set up with the exception of not reading directions on the cartridge install. You need to see exactly how to insert them or there will be frustration. So, the rest set up great w/out directions and the software included on the install cd was a nice surprise. I didn't realize there would be photo software that integrated...
Strengths: The printer has been working great. I like that I can copy easier on this printer.
This is a nice printer, that is compact and still has many features. It has made nice clear copies for me. The ability to place more that one sheet (for example to copy from a book) in the printer to copy is a great plus for me. I am happy with my purchase.
Strengths: smaller and faster than my last AIO
Weakness: If I can't get the ethernet to work I'm returning it for something cheaper. Also, the scanner is REALLY loud.
I see from other reviews that other Mac users haven't had any trouble. But they also didn't read the manual. I read the manual, and it has led me down the wrong path. I just received a 6310 this week. I run a Mac, OS 10.3.9. I got the USB interface to work just fine. But I cannot get the ethernet connection to work. The instructions in the manual, as well as the instructions in the installer...
Strengths: none
Weakness: Poor performance, speed, print quality,VERY expensive ink!
Very poor performance, bad picture qulity.Text quality average. Very slow copy.Picture quality very bad images smear. But most important thing unit is very expensive on ink! Overall completely unsatisfactory
Strengths: Smooth setup, clear directions, and with one re-boot everything worked as it should. Color on plain paper looks great. Pictures look like was dont on picture paper.
Weakness: none as of yet just got it 6/1/07
Wow. I just received the printer and am impressed with it. its an upgrade from my last HP printer which the fax just stopped working so i upgraded from 950xi to 6310 this 1's pictures are great but i just love all hp printers they do great printing.and this 1's ink is less in the cartragige. and cost a little more

Automatic Document Feeder is a huge help!
Strengths: Automatic Document Feeder, Photo printing, memory card reader, very fast print speed, easy to set up
Weakness: None found yet.
I bought this when my other HP printer went on the fritz. I initially looked for a duplicate replacement (printer/scanner/copier with photo printing). My old printer didn't have an Automatic Document Feeder (ADF), though, and when I saw the OfficeJet 6310, I realized how handy the ADF would be. I scan all of my documents, forms, records, to store electronically. Scanning a 20-page double-sided...
