First page is out in 10 seconds. Offers 64MB, 450 MHz processor, 50-sheet automatic document feeder, 250-sheet input tray, automatic duplex printing and a memory slot . 8-1/2 x 11-7/10 flatbed scanner offers enhanced resolution of 19,000 dpi, 24-bit depth, 256 levels of grayscale. Copy function offers a resolution of 600 x 600 dpi and 25 to 400 percent reduce/enlarge settings and makes up to 99 copies. Fax transmits a page in 3 seconds with 300 x 300 dpi. Fax function has a 60-page memory, 119 group dials, 120-number speed dial, junk fax barrier, fax forward, fax/phone/TAM interface, distinctive ring detection and polling . Standard connectivity includes 10/100Base-T Ethernet network port, Hi-Speed USB 2.0 compatible port, RJ-11 Fax port, RJ-11 line-out port. Energy Star qualified.

The printer had a PCLXL Kernel error with the supplied drivers and firmware when multiple pages were printed. Downloading the latest firmware and drivers solved this issue; also fixed a light scanning issue as well. HP installs a lot of useless software with the standard install. I recommend a custom install with just base driver and toolbox. Web base management is useful and informative. Overall...

At this point in time, your choices for a laser printer come down to Black and White or Color. The reason to choose B&W is that the toner is cheaper. This is a B&W only machine but what this machine has is that it can automatically duplex. This is a very good computer for small businesses. The printer does come with a full toner which can be used to print up to 3000 pages. The printing quality is very high even though the printer is only printing black and white. Scanning, fax, and copying functions are also very good. Very happy with this printer.

Setting up on the PC for a PC took a little more effort but still easy. The printer works fast-- there is virtually no start-up time. The first document will begin printing in a matter of seconds. The quality is excellent. The all-in-one is very convenient for the home situation where space is tight. The scanner works quickly as well; have not had any software issues with either the Mac or PC....

It has built-in network ready capability and also duplex printing. Maybe a little bulky for home use. But overall, it's a high quality AIO.

This is a great all in one (AIO) machine with high quality work as well as other features (network and duplex). Got a good deal recently as HP runs the rebate offer to upgrade my Canon imageclass MF3110.

Weakness: Scan could be faster
This is a good B&W multifunction printer. Unless you get it on a discount, it is probably not worth the ~500-600 retail price, since you can get a color multifunction for that price. On sale, however, this makes a great unit - fast printing and copies, very quiet with good print quality. The ability to scan and print over the network is a big plus. Only downside is that scanning could be faster.
