I have been using this printer in...
Strengths: High print quality, fast for this quality, brilliant color on most paper types, best I've seen for a consumer level printer, especially on photo quality glossy paper.
Weakness: Demands to be default printer (changes itself to defualt consistantly), won't work if ANY ink is out, so must constantly have spare ink.
I have been using this printer in my genetics lab for over 2 months now and can say this is the best printer I've seen at a consumer level. The print quality of this machine is hard to beat. We print pictures of cell organelles to full people on this printer, using 2 megapixel microscope cameras up to the 13.89 megapixel Kodak DNS camera- the print quality never fails to impress. And when we use...

i chose this printer because i...
Strengths: easy to hook up; looks sleek, easy to work with printer options; quiet and solid running. on "best photo" and premium glossy paper, it printed the best picture i've seen thus far
Weakness: twice it just stopped printing and ran into some "error" duirng my first week of use. i'm not sure what this is about.
i chose this printer because i wanted the best digital photos possible and a specialized printer, meaning i did not want a fax, scanner or copier builit it. It costs a lot more than most printers on the shelf. I was willing to try this and see if it met my expectations. when i printed on epson premium glossy paper under the highest setting possible, it produced a spectacular picture. twice,...

So good I got another
Strengths: Print quality is superb. I don't need to go to Walmart anymore for great digital prints. Prints cd's and DVD's as well.
Weakness: None experienced so far
I bought one about two years ago as I needed another printer for our companys cd's. I do about 9000 a year. Since it worked so well and I needed a faster turn around time, I bought another. I've also printed pictures on the 4 x 6 sheets of paper and quality is excellent. I put the pictures in direct sunlight and still have no major fading. I would however recommend using the EPSON high quality...

Strengths: Excellent color rendition
Weakness: Much difficulty feeding standard Avery note cards
The first one I purchased 2 weeks ago, died suddenly. I just setup the new one and find that it doesn't like feeding Avery Matte Ivory Embossed Note Cards - even though it did so fine last night. Now, it's a laborious process - one by one. I'm convinced that the paper feed mechanism is somewhat flawed. This is one area that is not addressed adequately in the printer reviews.
