Strengths: Scanning is near flawless and printing is photo-quality. The printer is quiet and easy to operate.
Weakness: I haven't encountered any problems or deficiencies with this printer.
I would highly recommend this all-in-one printer to anyone looking for a quality photo printer and scanner. This would be excellent for scrapbooking, flyers, archiving and just everyday printing. For home office purposes, some may view the inability to send or receive faxes a negative but I use the scan to PC function instead (or receive email and print). I bought this as an all-purpose printer...
Strengths: everything, thus far. appears to be a fine piece of equipment. mine is used primarily for film scanning and photo printing and the results are very good.
Weakness: haven't found any yet, not even the paper tray!
i have been in the computer business for slightly over 20 years and have been fortunate enough to have a lot of hands on experience with "new toys", some good and some not so good. it seems Canon has put together a real package at a very affordable price. also, one should not base a product on bundled software - please!
Strengths: Great photo prints, separate inks, easy to use copier and nice scans. Also prints on both sides of the paper.
Weakness: Front finished print receiving tray somewhat flimsy. Photo software adequate but not outstanding.

Weakness: maybe the bundled scanner software, but that's it
best multi-function i've ever owned. we have an hp 7410 at work. this machine blows it away in output quality, speed, and noise. if you can do without fax, document feeder and networking, this has to be the best photo quality multifunction on the market.
