MFC-8220 5-in-1 Laser Multifunction Center machine offers printing, faxing, copying, scanning and PC faxing. Print or copy 21 pages per minute with up to 2400 x 600 dpi. 30-page auto document feeder offers a quick, easy way to copy, fax or scan multi-page documents. 33.6Kbps fax modem provides quick fax transmission with 2 seconds per page. Three-color LCD and three function key mode buttons allow easy operation and clear visibility. PCL6 and BR-Script 3 emulations can handle all of your printing, including documents with a variety of fonts and graphics. USB and parallel interfaces provide the flexibility of connecting to your computer via USB or Parallel or even to two computers. Printer offers also 32MB memory, 600-page fax memory, 332 auto dial locations, corded telephone handset, 25 to 400 percent copy scaling, optical scan resolution of 300 x 600 dpi, and 250-sheet input tray that is adjustable for letter-size or legal-size paper. Strengths: Initial Cost and consumables price per page.
Weakness: The Manual Feed Tray only holds one piece and Jams occasionally with envelopes. Cost of optional second lower tray.
We are happy with the MFC8220. We use it primarily as a fax. We chose this machine because the consumables price per page was better than other machines in its class.
Strengths: Compact,sylish, clean looking.
Weakness: Heavy power drain. Causes line voltage to dip and trips UPS alarm. Have to run a separate circuit.
Nice 5-1 unit. Prints pages quickly, copies and faxes well. Easy to set-up. Would recommend option network card or an esternal print server for network environment. Power drain is not an issue. I would recommend its purchase.
Strengths: a value product which provided mult-function tasks for small business setting, cost of toner is very reasonable in compare with regular inkjet cartridge
Weakness: A paper tray with 500volume would be best
Excellent and speedy black and white printing. Scanner perform at good DPI with crispy result. Forseeable low maintenance supply cost. 32MB will fit the need of any small office setting for fax, copy etc.

Strengths: The inexpensive cost of this printer is why I bought the printer, plus the reviews of the inexpensive cost of the ink.
Weakness: I don't like the screen on top of the printer. My overhead lights in my office are bright and the screen on the printer is very hard to see.
This has been a very nice printer for me. We use it daily without any problems. Like I said earlier, the low cost and the reviews are the main reason I purchased this printer. It is very easy to learn to use. I am very pleased with my MFC-8220 Brother Printer

This is an excellent laser multifunction for the money. prints come out nice and dark, works fast and has document feeder for fax and scan. unlike many multifunctions, this does come with fax. footprint is not big and its fairly quiet. excellent buy for the money.
Strengths: all in one, cheap
Weakness: not color scanner
Very good and cheap all-in-one printer. Only one drawback is no-color scanner. I scan a lot of color images, so this would be a big problem for me. But, for this price, I can't complain.
Strengths: Fast, extensive fax features; inexpensive; Driver is simple and just takes less ram space; printing is good; scan is good; came with the paperport software.
Weakness: can not scan in color; can not print with the high quality. this is a little old model.
Brother MFC 8220 is fast and inexpensive multifunction machine which provide most of the features for a small business office. I highly recommend if you're in the market for a multifunction monochrome laser printer machine that is compatible with both Windows and Mac OS.

Nice All-in-one printer
Strengths: The quality and speed of printing, scanning and fax.
Weakness: only have B/W scan
It's a really nice laser all-in-one. I owned another brother laser printer for 3 years and had no problem at all. So I assume this one is made solid also. Even though it's a business level one, it still did great job for home office purpose. Fast printing, scanning, and fax. The only drawback is its B/W scan function. I am very glad to have it so far.
