Weakness: duplex is only for printing not for copying/scanning crinkles envelopes
previous models had duplex printing/copying/printing This model even has a duplex button, making you think it could do duplexing like it predecessors, but no!! I had purchased with that in mind It doesn't appear that Brother even offers and equivalent to the mfc8860dn, now you have to get the one with wireless to have an equivalent.

MFC-8480DN redeamed by paperport
Strengths: Great MFC, PaperPort saves the day with scan other side feature.
Weakness: mechanical duplex not for scan/fax/copy, only print
In Previous review was very disappointed because duplexing wasn't for scan/fax/copy but only for printing. But the Paperport software that comes with the unit has a feature to scan the other side which makes the MFC much more palatable. You simply scan one side, flip the stack of pages over and click the button that says scan other side. It automatically collates the pages in the proper order....
