Description
Laser All-In-One generates up to 30 pages per minute. Offers laser printing and copying, scanning and faxing with at 33.6Kbps modem. Ethernet, high-speed USB 2.0 and Parallel connectors are standard. Delivers up to 1200 x 1200 dpi laser printing. Legal-size flatbed glass for copying and scanning. Multifunction printer offers a 50-page automatic document feeder, 250-sheet standard input paper capacity, and black/white scanning. Fax modem has 32MB standard memory that holds 600 pages, 340 total auto dial locations and PC fax capability. Scanning capability includes black/white and color scanning with 19200 x 19200 dpi maximum interpolated scan resolution, 600 x 2400 optical scan resolution and 48-bit input color scan depth. Copy function reduces and enlarges originals from 25 to 400 percent.

I got this multifunction printer about a month ago. It is working great for my new start-up business office. Good print quality and fax really fast. The only downside is it makes a lot of clicking sound when printing and it is getting louder now. I called the customer support at Brother and was told that the sound is normal. No remedy given. Guess they don't really want to do anything about it....

Overall, I do love my new Brother AIO printer! I replaced this printer after having an HP AIO inkjet for over years. This should have been my replacement printer a long time ago! It is a bit huge for a home office, but simply marvelous! It uses a toner cartridge, so you can safely print over 3500 copies before replacing the cartridge. Terrific value, speed and print quality
Strengths: Price, speed, print quality. ADF works flawlessly. Software makes duplexing relatively easy.
Weakness: Some of the plastic trays seem flimsy. The first few days had paper curling problem. Seems to have disappeared. Included pdf software difficult to use and results in huge files.
Aftermarket toner carts available for under $30. Easy to refill the cart with compatible toner from Ebay @$11, bringing lifetime per copy cost to under 2cents all inclusive. Recommend using Adobe acrobat if you're going to do much scanning.
