There are 4 cartridges, which in principle means it is more flexible with colour and B&W. But, if any of the 4 are empty (or beyond their rated life) then the whole printer freezes, and cannot be reset without a power off/on. Weakness: There is NO Tech support! There is a fault in the driver that Brother has known about for almost a year but won't fix it claiming it's not their problem!
This replaced a Samsung CLP-500 that was noisy, slow, and poor color quality. The HL-4070CDW is much faster, much quieter, and recovery from "Sleep" is much quicker.
