Strengths: Everything works like it's supposed to. Good layout. Overclocks well - I kicked my e4500 right up to 2.7ghz without it flinching... I know it can go a bit higher still. Very good deal with the rebate.
Weakness: Haven't found any. Doesn't have SLI, but not a big deal for a guy like me.
I highly recommend this board. It has some useful features for overclockers and did I mention it's stable. Everything works - even the LAN... in linux. Pretty solid for such an inexpensive board.
Strengths: Great physical layout, awesome overclocking capabilities, SATA, PATA, PRICE!
Weakness: No SLI, No EPP for Memory, lack of fans.
The first motherboard I ordered came dead on arrival; that being said, after I got the second it worked great. Its probably (in my opinion) the best priced motherboard. It's semi-pro meaning, the options are awesome and the capabilities are really endless. Awesome overclocking and for $110 I can't complain! Everything you need minus SLI or WiFi access.
Strengths: Very overclockable, SATA, PCIe, fast bus
Weakness: none noted
I was looking for a mobo that was fairly cheap but still had some modern tech. This one fit the bill. It has great overclocking ability. Haven't pushed the OC as far as it could go with my e4400 but I may do so soon. Has a PCIe slot for my gfx card, and 3 PCI slots for slightly older tech. A very good board for the price.
Strengths: Strong overclocking potential, includes SATA, RAID, great overclocker, lots of BIOS settings, price
Weakness: Layout is somewhat strange, 2 pin power led header while Antec uses 3 pin wires, battery is virtually impossible to remove while mobo is in case
I bought this motherboard to go in a budget Conroe setup I was building. I couldn't be happier and my e4300 is overclocked to over 3 ghz right now. Very stable and easy motherboard to get setup. The only thing that seems a little strange is the layout of the motherboard. The backup battery is right on the edge of the board, and the IDE header actually is parallel to the motherboard instead of...
Strengths: Inexpensive, but comes with lots of goodies on the board and it seems to be a good quality motherboard.
Weakness: No heatsink or fan on the southbridge.
I paired this motherboard with an Intel E4500 cpu, and it works great, and overclocks well. I overclocked using the BIOS, but the motherboard CD comes with nVidia's nTune software so you can OC from Windows too. Came with a full set of cables too. No complaints about this board!
Strengths: Cost, Overclock ability, Performance, Easy RAID installation/usage
Weakness: No manual, included software doesn't work,
Best price for a good overclocking board. Perfect for those who don't need SLI. Has been running flawlessly for a few weeks now. Coupled with 8800gts, e6850, 2gb Ballastix, 2 75gb Raptors in raid, and 500gb Maxtor hard drive. Best bang for your buck motherboard.
Strengths: overclocks well, price
Weakness: 1 PATA header (2 PATA devices max), no RAID on PATA, poor cooling, 2.1v max for memory
This is one of the lowest priced LGA775 motherboards around and it also offers great overclocking ability. However, if you do not intend to overclock, you should go look at other budget boards that will offer more none-overclocking features, such as additional PATA headers, better cooling for the motherboard, etc. The BIOS allows you to adjust voltage for north bridge, south bridge, CPU, and...
Strengths: 4 SATA2 RAID ports, nForce6 chipset, very capable overclocking support
Weakness: lack of fan cooling, no SLi
Just got this card from Newegg last week. Threw in a Core 2 Duo E4500 and OCed to 3.0G at ease by increasing the FSB with the stock fan. The board has run completely stable, no problems. Definitely worth the money.
Strengths: Good board layout. This board does not have a lot of obstructions. GREAT overclocker too! Good bios. Fast! Easy setup and supports quad core.
Weakness: For people who are into SERIOUS overclocker, they may not like the fact that the memory voltage only goes to 2.1V. Also, there is no SLI on this mobo.
All in all a quality board. Best in its price range. Does the job well. Dont estimate it based on price only. Highly recommend for people building a nice affordable setup
Great budget overclocking motherboard!!!
Strengths: I got a 100% overclock from my E2140 with this motherboard, has a lot of overclocking options, plenty of 3 pin fan headers (4 I think), all around a great motherboard for the price.
Weakness: Ram voltage maxes out at 2.1v, needs a 2 pin power LED plug (some cases have a 3 pin), southbridge chipset has no heatsink to cool it (gets a little hot).
I found a deal for a Pentium Dual Core E2140 on eBay for an amazing $55 shipped but I didn't have a motherboard to go with it. I wanted a motherboard that had good overclocking option but didn't break the bank. After some research I came across this motherboard. It had everything I want and after the $20 mail-in rebate the price was very low ($86 or something like that at the time). I had no...
