Strengths: works out of the box without loading complicated drivers. Good for first time builders or someone who need basic computing needs
Weakness: limited configurability
The board works out of the box without loading complicated drivers. I used it to upgrade an old failing Pentium 3 machine. I used all of the old peripherals, including HD, floppy, CDRW, DVDRW and AGP video card. Only thing I needed was the this motherboard, P4 processor and some DDR memory. All this machine is really use for is email, web surfing and some basic photo editing. Not for gamers!!!
Strengths: Micro ATX, Supports most socket 775 CPUs including latest core2Duos. 3 PCI slots. DDR and DDR2 Memory
Weakness: No PCI Express, No Firewire
I got this board and it worked without any bios update. I am pretty happy with it except I could not get onboard SPDIF input working even with latest drivers. I am planning to RMA it to get another board. Other than this there are no complaints. It is a micro ATX form factor and so can be used in HTPCs. It has AGP port instead of PCI Express. The best thing about this board is it can accept both...
Strengths: core 2 duo support. AGP
Weakness: no firewire , limited overclocking
If you are getting it for free from frys with processor, go for it. Worked first time for me. Able to overclock 10%. However no firewire port. Good till other brands become cheaper Supports AGP video card
Strengths: Easy to install, with VGA,LAN,USB port and in built sound, supports both DDR & DDR@
Weakness: Only 3 PCI slot
It is a cheap motherboard for P4 processor, with inbuilt sound,VGA, LAN and 4 USB ports. It is very easy to install and has 1 AGP and 3 PCI slots for enhanced graphics. It has 4 RAM slots 2 each for DDR & DDR2. It works great I like it and would recommend it.
Strengths: Compact size, low cost
Weakness: none
This motherboard has been working great for a couple months. It is using a generic 1GB RAM, Celeron D chip, 2 hard drives, NVIDIA AGP video card, TV tuner/capture card, and a CD burner. It is fast to boot (XP Pro), never bogs down, and I have no complaints. Works great for my HTPC.
Strengths: Easy to put together, I loved the BIOS instructions and how simple it was to get up and running.
Weakness: Limited number of PCI slots, but overall a great little board..
I got this board to build a friend a computer that would play games, browse the internet and just be a nice little companion for a desktop model. I fell in love with it and had to buy myself one also. It is easy to use, works right out of the box, no guessing and the manual is actually useful and not just a doorstop.
Strengths: Low price; small size; can use both DDR & DDR2 RAM, but either one or the other, not both. Has both onboard VGA and an AGP graphics slot, so I dont need to get a PCI graphics card. Has 2 IDE headers!
Weakness: Limited features- does not have a firewire port; no pci express card slots; only two SATA plugs - also the SATA is 1.5; not SATA2 or 3.0. limited overclocking capabilities.
I purchased this motherboad (MB) as a bundle with a Pentium dual core E6300. In the past I have had a 50% success rate on ECS motherboards with one model taking 3 returns until i got one that worked, and another model working fine after 1 year. I decided to take a chance on the bundle offer and try the E6300 on this MB. It installed quickly, with no problems. The monitor works fine using the MB...
Strengths: Good performance and amount of features for the price. Supports dual core.
Weakness: No IEEE 1394 or PCI express x16. No dedicated 6ch audio jacks built in.
I purchased this board to replace an Asus P5V800-MX that I was having problems with. When I purchased it, it was one of the few budget boards that supported dual core pentium cpu's. This board is about the same price as the Asus, but I didn't have any problems with the ECS, and it also has more features. One nice feature on this board is the ability to use either ddr or ddr2 memory. This provides...
Strengths: Good for the price with combo purchase. ddr and ddr2
Weakness: this is micro motherboard so limited for upgraded
This motherboard delivers superior performance for Intel’s Pentium D 805 dual-core CPUs.The ECS P4M800-PRO-M deliver quick, agile application processing. This value-rich motherboard supports DDR 400 or DDR2 533,high-quality 6-channel audio for a vivid sound. This high-performance platform also supports USB 2.0 and AGP 8X. incredibly low cost.
Low-performance, easy-to-use board
Strengths: Works out of the box, pretty simple to set up. Supports processors of a range of price and performance. Supports DDR2, RAID, and SATA/I
Weakness: Poor overclocking features. Doesn't support any of the higher-end products (not even with overclocking), such as DDR2 over 667MHz, SATA/II, PCI express.
This board is a great, inexpensive board for a simple home system. But for anybody looking to do some high-flyin' computing, you're going to be a little frustrated by the limited BIOS and the limited performance features of this board. For those who are putting together their first computer and who don't need many options, I highly recommend this board. For people who need more performance, I'd...
