Strengths: Great response times for games, color fidelity for photos/graphics, and video playback performance.
Weakness: Too good? No!
The other reviews say it all. Let me add my own experience: Gaming: I tested CS and DoD Source, BF2, and Doom 3 on this panel, and they all looked beautiful. The response times are better then a lot of those supposed 4ms monitors and there are only a couple monitors that are really any faster. Movies: I watch a lot of anime on this panel and it looks fantastic. I also tested Final Fantasy 7:...
Strengths: Vibrant colors, good contrast, good ergonomics, DVI cable included, Good response time (No ghosting from my use).
Weakness: Theft-deterrent system; Input pop-up indicator; ?potentially poor service from Viewsonic; bleed-through lighting for black.
Did lots of research before buying this monitor once its price became competitive with Samsung/Dell's. I use a Dell FP1907 at work and I feel the viewsonic is sharper and more vibrant. Its ergonomics is also a bit more stable than Dell but lacks USB hub for those that care. My panel has no dead pixels so far, but does have the X-shaped light leak on black screens. Compared to Dell, the black is...
Strengths: Sharp, bright, extremely adjustable. Price is good.
Weakness: Coloring is obviously not going to be as exact as the CRT I have sitting right next to it. Default config White is not a true white (only noticable when in dual config with a CRT)
Bought this monitor after moving to and from college with a huge 19" CRT monitor. Already had a graphics card that supports two monitors so I hooked it up in a dual monitor configuration. The CRT's (NEC MultiSync FE950+) coloring is slightly better and more defined when viewing high resolution pictures, but the VP930B is shaper and easier on the eyes with just about everything else. Gameplay is...
Strengths: True 8 bit color. Fast response.
Weakness: Slight x pattern from back light if monitor turned to max brightness (which would hurt your eyes).
After having a CRT monitor for all these years I broke down and requested a VP930B for my gift this holiday season. The monitor itself is great. I notice no ghosting and great contrast. You need to turn down the brightness and contrast when you get the monitor unless you want to have a headache. But once adjusted (software is included to do that) the image is great. The x patten from the...
Strengths: Screen adjustments easily made. Outstanding picture!
Weakness: One dead pixel = Not Bad. One pesky pop-up = IRRITATING, but not enough to make me regret purchasing this monitor.
Physical Attributes: ViewSonic's VP930B has all the physical adjustments you could want. Its stand is stable so making the adjustments is practically effortless. What's more, once you have made them, the screen STAYS where you put it! The monitors thin-edge frame is eye pleasing and a strong plus. GOOD: What really sells the VP930B, though, is the great picture it provides. OOBE provides a...
Strengths: Very good color representation, easy to setup. You can't get more adjustable than this! No ghosting while gaming!
Weakness: The extremely annoying BSOD, except in this case it's a little blue screen of DVI that pops up everytime the monitor adjusts the pixels.
I'm a website designer by trade so I needed a big monitor that had accurate color representation and was easy on the eyes since I was going to be staring at it for hours on end. I looked into several Samsungs as I've had great luck with them, but I stumbled across this little gem accidently while researching other monitors. Setup is great, the adjustment tools to get the best pictures is great....
Strengths: Great color, great picture presentation, great design.
Weakness: Pricy, 1 dead/light pixel, backlight leakage from 4 corners like "X" on dark background. Light lines after long term usage because of QC?
VP is supposed to be the best series of ViewSonic's products, but not necessary for Quality Control. After 20 days of trying it, it sometimes shows green lines on dark background. I am talking about 10 to 20 lines. When I turned it off, the next day in the morning the green lines dissapeared, until the monitor was used for quite some time. Ask around friends and some forums to see whether the...
Strengths: Outstanding color precision with deep blacks for a Great DVD experience. Very sharp and easy on the eyes with the finest of font styles and sizes. Ghosting if at all is hardly noticeable.
Weakness: none
Retired my 21 inch CRT, Almost got the NEC MultiSync LCD1970GX-BK Black 19" LCD Monitor but at the last moment found this baby. After reading all the excellent reviews for the NEC, I thought I had found the perfect monitor; I was wrong. The glossy surface of the NEC would have annoyed me all the time with light reflections. I did some more searching and on TomsHardware.com I found an excellent...
Strengths: You can't ask for anything more in an LCD monitor, except..
Weakness: It just will not work for more than 5 minutes at a time. Screen would go black while it hunts between the two connectors for a computer.
Viewsonic said to send it to them for factory warranty repair, but instead I returned it to the place I purchased it for a full refund. Something new shouldn't need this. This is a new model - I read the wonderful reviews for the previous model that this one replaces. Why did Viewsonics need a new model? What was wrong with the previous model which had such good reviews? The answer is probably...
A stable stand keeps this model in place even while you use the smooth physical adjustments.

It's happened. Much to our dismay, ViewSonic has pulled their VP191b monitor off the market. You can still find it in limited quantities, but at a high price! As consolation though, ViewSonic is back with a new model: the VP930b. It features searing specifications and ergonomics that are still top notch. But the VP191b won't be easily forgottenthe VP930b has some very big shoes to fill.

Best Mutli-Purpose 19
Strengths: Color, Responce (g to g AND b to w), Contrast, Price
Weakness: Disporpotional brightness causes bleeds on black.
Simply put this is the best multi-purpose 19" you can purchase to date. The responsiveness of this monitor is nearly flawless... no matter what anybody says there is ALWAYS ghosting on LCDs. The difference is whether it's noticeable. On the VP930 I was very hard pressed to find it and in the end unable to do so. The Color is very sharp but more importantly it's highly accurate. Several LCDs that...
