Strengths: 24" 1080p Widescreen, enough said Unbeatable price 3 Year Warranty
Weakness: DVI only works properly with the computer Component quality stinks Some bits of banding and ghosting Dell refuses to fix all the issues, and they are on their 4th revision (A03)!!
Don't get me wrong, I love my monitor and I couldn't live without it. There is no way you can get a high resolution 24" widescreen for $750 anywhere. If you are serious about picture and color quality (ie heavy photo editing) or use more than one input (plan to use Component or DVI for watching HDTV or DVDs through your set top box or DVD player or play Xbox 360) be warned that the picture...
Strengths: large lcd monitor with sharp text ability to rotate monitor 90 degrees to make connections
Weakness: No height adjustment. No HDMI port. No built-in speakers (although for a monitor this is to be expected.)
This is a superb monitor for cost when compared with other monitors of comparable size. The images and text are excellent. The native resolution of 1920 X 1200 required me to upgrade my AGP card to display at this level, but it was well worth it. No HDMI port is yet available, although I have yet to use one of these cables. There is a height adjustment on the monitor, although it took me a little...
Strengths: Large and Wide. Excellent resolution options. High quality. 5, yes 5 input options, Dell 3 year warranty (advanced exchange). Price
Weakness: Dell changed their stand design, I liked the old stand design better. LCD screendoor effect.
I purchased this 24" wide panel monitor to replace my dell 2005FPW that I had purchased last December. I decided I wanted this 24" bad boy. I am not in the least unhappy about that decision. This thing is a monster. I use it for my PC monitor, Xbox monitor, and with the component inputs will use it for my Xbox360 monitor. I have been extremely happy with Dell's quality. This thing is bright,...
Strengths: High Resolution, Big Screen, Lots of Inputs, Great Price
Weakness: Terrible Component Quality
Great monitor if you will just be using it for desktop work as it's got the built in USB and memory card readers and the picture quality from the DVI is impeccable. HDTV on the Component wasn't good, the blacks were too dark and no amount of tweaking of the settings could fix it. I am using it mainly with the DVI connection for my computer, so for the price and the resolution, it's hard to beat.
Strengths: This is an awesome monitor, High Resolution, Big Screen, Lots of Inputs, Great Price
Weakness: None so far
I have owned this monitor for almost two months and I am very impressed with its quality and all of its functions! This is the first time I have owned such a big monitor and I can say Dell is one of the companies who can make you happy!
Strengths: 1920x1200, Multiple Inputs, USB + SD/MMC Reader
Weakness: USB devices powered off with monitor.
I purchased the Dell 2407FPW for more screen real estate and am currently using it along with a Dell 1905FP. The screen shines brightly. And while it may substitute for a lamp, the brightness doesn't bother my eyes and the colors appear accurate. While gaming, there is almost no hint of ghosting. In comparison to the Dell 1905FP, the improvement is dramatic. The physical build is very appealing,...
Strengths: Neat design; beautiful LCD; with all kinds of signal interface, card reader, USB2.0 Hub. Competitive C/P value.
Weakness: none
Recently I was surprised at Dell's design. It is total different from the old dell. The quality is excellent for me. Although I have read some negative comments about it's LCD, I feel satisfied with it. It is a good deal.
Strengths: On-screen controls, not as bright as the 2405, good image quality through DVI
Weakness: The stand is garbage
My 21" CRT died about six months ago so I replaced it with a Dell 2405. Good monitor, though a bit too bright. My wife's 21" CRT was showing signs of age, so we purchased a 2407 (which I took - giving her the 2405). The picture quality on both is about equal. The controls and memory card slots are better on the 2407. HOWEVER, and this is a huge however, the new stand is total garbage. For one, it...
Strengths: High Resolution 1920x1200, 6ms response time, card reader and usb ports.
Weakness: None so Far.
This is an excellent monitor for the price. No other monitor in this price range matches the features of Dell. Excellent Price/Performance ratio. I like the Swivel/Rotation screen, built in Card Reader and the USB Ports. Too bright out of the box.Had to tune the graphics card settings to get the right contrast ratio.
Replacing the Dell 2405FPW, the 2407WFP wide aspect LCD display combines industrial design with functionality. A 24" 16:9 screen is over 1.5X wider than a 17" 4:3 so you can fit quite a bit more on your screen. Lots of inputs to choose from including DVI, VGA, Component, S-Video, and RCA so you can use this display for anything you like. Added from accessories.us.dell.com ... PROS: (1) color...

Decent, all around
Strengths: Large screen size No input lag (when compared visually to a 22" CRT at the same resolution) Saturated colors
Weakness: No contrast control (brightness only) Some ghosting Color banding in gradient areas Some moire issues
I am a hardcore gamer and graphic designer. I calibrate monitors for a living. The Dell 2407 is a great all around monitor, suffers from no visually noticeable input lag, and has a super bright, large screen. If you are not going to judge its color fidelity or use it for intense photo editing or other color work, this monitor will do you fine. It responds well to fast paced games, and it...
