Review:  Overall, this is a very fine 56k modem. It comes complete with a very helpful control panel that enables easy access to many modem diagnostics and controls. However, better explanation of updating procedures and use of the handy control panel would be very helpful.

Strengths:  It is external so I didn't have to pay someone to install it into my laptop. Works with XP and I like how I can answer the phone without being ...
Weaknesses:  It only connects at a 33 kbps speed - I was used to 45 kbps with the more expensive US Robotics modem I was using.
Review:  I would purchase again. I do think the price was a little high for such a low connection speed, but it saved me from having to install it into my laptop myself or pay someone else to do it.
