Modem issue

I purchased this modem on Amazon. Tested it on Comcast employee laptop and could only lock on to downstream channel 1. Comcast employee attached his rental modem (same exact model hardware and firmware) and was able to lock on to 4 downstream channels. I purchased this modem on Amazon. Tested it on Comcast employee laptop and could only lock on to downstream channel 1. Comcast employee attached his rental modem (same exact model hardware and firmware) and was able to lock on to 4 downstream channels. I can only guess the one I purchased is defective since Comcast tested both on the same laptop. No configuration change, direct connection to modem, everything equal. The modem is self install, no software updates to run. Again, firmware was current and the same on both modems.I'll be mad if I get the same modem again and the same thing happens. I would like to get the same kind of modem and be surprised that it locks on to other channels and there was really nothing that I could resolve to have my modem lock on to multiple downstream channels.
