Additional Specifications
Frequency Band: Smart Receiver: Work wirelessly without bothersome interference. Smart technology automatically notifies you when interference is present, and then helps you reduce it
Strengths: Comfortable, side-to-side scroll wheel, fwd and back buttons on side, decent tracking, excellent battery life. Overall good quality and sturdy.
Weakness: The ONLY flaw is that the scroll wheel is hard to click. But for all the other benefits, it's hardly an issue.
This Microsoft mouse is great for people who don’t ask for the top of the line. The range is only 3 feet or so, and with in this range the reception is great and the mouse holds its responsiveness. Gammers in my opinion should go with a laser or other higher resolution mouse. Nice Buy with Rebate and Google Check out. Reciver must be close, or you get minor lag.
Strengths: Everything! Ergonomic, tons of features; easy to set up, great looking
Weakness: none so far.
I was amazed at how easy it was to install the software for my wireless optical mouse 5000. Within five minutes I was up and running and already programed some of the buttons. I highly recommend this product.
Strengths: Great Ergonomics, Good construction of buttons and surface, Good precision
Weakness: None so far
The installation of this mouse is very easy and takes less than 10 minutes. The build looks the same as my old microsoft wireless explorer, but seems to made of better materials. I can use the mouse for hours without any discomfort. This mouse features pretty good precision (advertised to be 1000dpi), which is satisfactory for most applications, perhaps with the exception of intense gaming. So...
Strengths: Very easy on batteries, 5 buttons, excellent options to configure button functions.
Weakness: None.
I have used this mouse for 4 years and I am online all day long and a set of batteries lasts 7 months! The forward and back buttons for browsing are wonderful, no more moving the cursor to the browser back button. Download the latest version of the drivers from Microsoft and you can configure the buttons almost any way you want, the magnifier option is neat. At first the mouse felt a bit large,...
Strengths: Long battery life, comfortable grip, convenient button placement.
Weakness: None.
Battery life is excellent,-5-6 months of heavy use before switching. The software makes this 5 button mouse very configurable. Once you mouse with 5 buttons you will never go back to less! The center wheel scrolls up-down and left-right. Persons with smallish hands may prefer the notebook version of this mouse.
Strengths: price, design, functionality
Weakness: none yet
I haven't had this long enough to test battery life but this mouse is just what I was looking for. I'm not a gamer but use the computer a lot. If I would have tested a mouse like this years ago, I would have forked out the cash for it. I got it online for about $30 and it is worth every penny.
Strengths: Workable solution to wireless scrolling
Weakness: USB PORT Device has long wire leading to the device
For laptop use I would not purchase this MS wireless laser mouse again. The USB device which comes with this mouse defeats the purpose of compactness one expects from a wireless device. Might just as well use a regular wired mouse.
Strengths: Flawless operation and strong signal.
Weakness: None
I am very impressed with this mouse. This unit is very responsive, and has a strong signal strength with the sending unit a significant distance from the mouse. It also has a very comfortable grip and weight. The programming is easy and the settings options are user friendly. Anyone can customize this mouse very easily to their individual liking. The operation is smooth and the scroll wheel is a...
Strengths: Very Comfortable. For the money, I don't think there is a better mouse out there.
Weakness: None yet.
Very comfortable in your hand. Glides smooth. The scrolling wheel is very smooth. Best buy for the money. Very easy set up. It only took a few minutes. I also have a Logitech mouse and I prefer the Microsoft one. No complaints
The Microsoft Wireless Mouse 5000 is a battery-operated wireless optical mouse that connects to Microsoft and Macintosh PCs via a USB smart receiver. It utilizes high-definition optical technology to allow for more precise rendering versus an older roller model. And it was built to be especially ergonomic, allowing users to operate it without unwanted discomfort. Included with the mouse are dual...

This is a great wireless mouse!
Strengths: Easy installation, smooth scrolling, side-to-side scrolling, magnification
Weakness: Scrolling wheel is difficult to click
This mouse was very fast and easy to install. The tracking is very precise and the speed can easily be set to your liking. I like the smooth scrolling, which is vastly superior to the old "ratcheting" style. I enjoy using the side-to-side scrolling feature as well. Another thing I like is the magnification button on the left, which makes it easy to magnify the part of the page your cursor is on....
