In comparsion to the VGN FS7**/FS8** series I had, this new SONY VGN FS990 has two USB ports and one VGA port, while the other models have three USB ports and no VGA port. First of all, the one(SONY VGN-FS990) I bought from Amazon.com two months ago, is 1.73GHZ Centrino Mobile, NOT CORE DUO). I am really not sure if SONY changed its configuration. The SONY laptop is elegantly constructed, worthy the extra money paid for price. So far the only problem I have is the laptop goes into hibernating when using IE, like 2 or 3 times every week. Strengths: Compact and Efficient
Weakness: Lack of universiality with media card slot.
Very compact and efficient system, great for normal everyday use. RAM and CPU are easily upgraded, the parts are extremely easy to find and even install yourself (if that's your boat). I'm very impressed with its functionality but rather disappointed in the lack of dual core processor. This system comes highly recommended.
