Well, this is a good entry-level laptop for family. The screen, the remote and the speakers are great for watching DVDs. The laptop is stylish especially compared to old HP lappies. I got a good deal on this laptop and that is what I suggest as well. The specs are pretty good for this computer and overall it's a great laptop for pleasure, fun, etc, and it can be an everyday computer, just not for major computing. Great Laptop
Strengths: Excellent multimedia PC, Dual Core processor, excellent screen (sharp), fast DVD/CD writer, two earphone jacks, and great speakers.
Weakness: A little heavy, no web cam, no PCMCIA slot, and you have to use function keys to control the brightness and sharpness of the screen.
This is an excellent laptop! HP has made a very good multimedia PC with two earphone jacks (perfect for playing a DVD on the plane!), good speakers, a great DVD/CD writer, and plenty of USB ports. The lack of a PCMCIA and web cam are a little disappointing but the price ($699 after rebates) made up for all of that!
