Strengths: hold's 17" laptop and mobile recording equipment, m-audio fw1814, ext usb hard drive, all cables accessories, Sony monitor headphones, also serves as an excellent xbox 360 system carrier.
Weakness: weight distribution seems a little awkward, seems to pull a litle too much on the shoulders. Then again I am carrying a lot of weight too.
I couldn't find a better 17" notebook plus carrier for the price. I was able to fit a lot of stuff in this back pack weighnig over 50lbs. I was also able to fit my entire 360 system and 4 controllers, 12 games, all cables, etc.. Again when carrying a lot of weight the bakpack does pull on the shoulders a little more then I would like. Side straps are a good recommendation to resolve this.
Strengths: *Plenty of pockets to store stuff. *Comfortable padded strap with air holes for you sweaty people *Color schemes look good *Roomy
Weakness: *Targus needs to design their bag with double zipper. There is only one zipper in some pocket. *The right side pocket should be made longer to hold the power adapter *Expensive
I bought this because none of my laptop bag would fit my 17" Widescreen Dell Inspiron 9300 notebook computer. This back pack can fit the 9300 with room to spare. The black on blue looks very nice. What I don't like about this bag is that it is expensive from Best Buy.
Strengths: Lots of compartments and great for other purposes too
Weakness: A little bulky if you dont have lots of stuffs to put in
It's a big notebook backpack. Great to use since it can fill 3-4 1.5 in folders, 2-3 2 in thick textbooks. Besides for school, I used it for camping. It's not just a backpack, but also a great "lugage" for hiking, camping or outing.
Strengths: Fits my I9300 perfectly, has a lot of space and pockets.
Weakness: cant think of any except for that it is huge but then if you have big notebook you will need a big backpack to go with it.
Well it is a really good backpack, There are many backpacks for 17" laptops, but the problem is as soon as you put the notebook in, it is full and can't hold more than a another folder and accessories. This bag is big and can hold up to 2 folders and 2 text books and also all the accessories you will need with the laptop like mouse headphones power cord etc... It is also very nicely organized...
Strengths: Plenty of storage. 17" Powerbook fits with room to spare. Lightweight and sturdy.
Weakness: None that I have found.
I went to the consumer stores and checked out several of the leading backpacks that would fit my new Powerbook. Two or three were top contenders, but the Targa won out for storage and weight.
Strengths: Fits widescreen 17" laptops; plenty of storage compartments
Weakness: "Smells" out of the box!; Material not as sturdy as other bags; Too Big!
I recently upgraded from a 15" laptop to a 17" widescreen, so my excellent Targus TSB312 (see my other review) would no longer fit. Belive it or not, I considered not buying this laptop, as I knew I would have to give up that bag!! The material was sturdy, the reinforcements/padding for the back were excellent, and it had decent storage. I decided to stick w/ the Targus name, and chose this bag,...
Strengths: Its huge!
Weakness: Could possibly be too big for some.
The compatibility list on the Targus website says nothing about apple 17" powerbooks... so here are the specs of the bag and you can compare it to your notebook at home: Device Compatibility 16.5" x 2.2" x 12.9" Exterior Dimensions 15.5" x 8" x 20.5"
Strengths: It's BIG, Sturdy, Lots of pockets for organization! Built to evenly distribute weight across the back! Cell Phone holder is perfectly placed, easily accessible even when wearing the pack! I love it!
Weakness: It's big, but if you decided on a 17" laptop then you like big! I have to say that the flap in the front is somewhat annoying. If I use those pockets for anything, it pulls on the pack.
The only thing I can see that would improve this pack is to put optional snaps at the top of the pocketed flap; The straps are great for getting that flap closer to the pack but it still needs a little something more to keep the weight evenly distributed when using the pockets on that flap. Since I only use the shoe netting for baby bottles, I'll either add snaps myself, or stitch the flap to the...
Strengths: It is very large with many of compartments. It holds my Dell Inspirion 9300 in it perfectly.
Weakness: It is a little bulky. I don't like the open compartment in the back.
Really good backpack. This bag is big and can hold up to 2 folders and 2 text books and also all the accessories you will need with the laptop like mouse headphones power cord etc... It is also very nicely organized with a lot of pockets. It is very big but for going to college I need to hold books and my laptop all in one bag. I was carrying around two and was killing myself.

A large, quality, backback for 17 inch laptops
Strengths: Huge, tons of packing space; Can comfortably fit 17 inch laptops; fits dell inspiron 1705E with tons of excess space; very comfortable straps; solid construction
Weakness: tons of storage space is not for the absent-minded; may look odd on a small person; does not come with any reflective marks on it
This is a rugged, well designed laptop backback with a ton of storage room. Seriously, this bag has room for books, a couple laptops, cooling pads, cd/dvd cases, power supplies, lunch. Also, the back is really huge, it is the only backpack bag that I've come across that can fit my Dell Inspiron 1705E with plenty of room to spare. IT is also very well padded on both the top and bottom of the bag,...
