It greatly helps the computer from overheating. It keeps my desk/lap cool and my hands feel very comfortable on the keyboard. I love this product and I would recommend it to any laptop user.

This small piece of molded foam with 1.5 inch raised bumps serves fantastically in its function of raising laptops off the desk. The relatively low angle also puts the keyboard at a much more comfortable angle. It is light and highly portable, however It's bumps are static, they do not fold nor collapse; however they are 6 inches apart which allows for other objects in a laptop case to surround...

This product has been a good purchase. I would imagine that some of the other products out there might be better but for $7 you cannot beat this. My computer used to run very loudly with the interior fans but now it runs much quieter.
