This is great item!!

Strengths: Small, Handy, Quickly switch. 2day free super derivery

Weakness: There is no ps2 port.

I strongly recommend you to buy this. If you need kvm, this item is best for you. The price is not expensive, but it works very well. However if you have just ps2 port keybord or mouse, it is not compatible. Anyway, I use it everyday with satisfactory.

Junk.. cheap junk but junk nevertheless!!

Strengths: Excellent product with decent response time...when it works. Affordable pricing for a usb unit, sadly, it died on me! See below

Weakness: This unit died after 2 days of use. Windows gives me a message of "usb device is malfunctioned". Reinstalling doesn't help. Now I am stuck with switching keyboard and mouse back and foward.. Junk!

I would never buy again from Trendnet. Hopefully you would fare better than me in using this product. I first thought that my wireless desktop set caused the problem but after plugging them in my pc directly, they work flawlessly. I don't know what happen to this kmv unit but dying after 2 days of use suck big time!

nice for the price - KVM Switch TK-207

Strengths: No software to install XPSP2. Installed without rebooting either PC. Good set of cables provided. A 2nd ding/bell will occur when the switch completes transfer-ready for your mouse/keyboard to begin.

Weakness: 4 second delay in the switch, if that is a weekness. If a system if not using the monitor for the intial display, it will boot in low 8 bit (grainy) color quality from 32bit.

I use a KVM switch every day. My old one was an A/B switch for my Monitor. Same issue would occur if one system was not booted on the active KVM switch for the monitor. My system switches between a Laptop and a Desktop. I'll be using this KVM for a while....

works great but kotkey a little flakey

Strengths: small fast cheap good construction

Weakness: hot key a little flaky very short kvm cables layout is annoying

So, on the good side, it works great with the button. On the down side, it comes with only 1m (3 ft) kcm cables, so you either need close-together systems or extension cables (trendnet doesn't even make longer compatible kbm cables, and they seem like they're pretty propietary, since they combine the USB and VGA from the computer side into one VGA type connector on the kvm side). Also, the hotkey...

Awesome little device!!

Strengths: Cheap, small, quick switch

Weakness: cables are only 6' long, so it could be a problem for some

I recently bought this because buying another monitor for my server would be a waste of money. This little device does the trick. It switches the monitor instantly, but it takes 5-7 seconds to load the mouse and keyboard which is not a big deal to me. You just hit scroll lock twice or one of the buttons on the unit and you're good to go. Setup was instant, no drivers to install, as the device was...

Very pleased with my kvm

Strengths: Easy setup, works great, nice price.

Weakness: None that I have found.

I needed to switch between two Win-XP boxes. Was very easy to setup. XP had all the needed drivers, just let each computer fully boot up and get PNP hardware configured before switching to the next one. Once you're set up, just hit Scroll Lock twice and you toggle back and forth. I'm running 1280X1024 and don't see any problems with the video quality. It sure is nice to not have two monitors on...

a kvm that does the job

Strengths: low price, fast switching (hit scroll lock 2x), plug and play

Weakness: only 2 usb ports (keyboard and mouse), can't switch to other computer when current computer is off, short cables

I got this kvm so that I could share a mouse and keyboard between my desktop and laptop. It works well for the most part. Sometimes it takes a few seconds for the mouse and keyboard to catch up to the monitor. Also, if you just shutdown computer 1 and you want to switch to computer 2, you can't. For some reason it can't switch switch to the other computer when your current one is off. I also...

Out-Of-Range Screen

Strengths: Working fine under normal situations

Weakness: When Computer sleeps and then restarts, a message says Out-Of-Range Screen is displayed I had to restart to resolve the issue

I have no problem with the KVM as long as any of two PCs doesn't go into sleep. IF either ones sleeps, can't waike ut up anymore. I ahve to do a full restart and lose any work I been doing.

Inexpensive KVM but unuseable in my application

Strengths: Small and comes with the necessary cables

Weakness: The software that is supposed to allow you to add your own keyboard commands didn't work. If you shut a computer down you can't use the "scroll lock" key to switch to the other computer.

The biggest flaw for me is that I use a cherry keyboard with a credit card reader built in. Every time I read a credit card the device switches to the other computer and I have to use the buttons on the box to switch back to complete the transaction. In this application this KVM is worse than useless. I will need to purchase a different unit for my needs.

TK-207 A slow KVM switch

Strengths: Cheap , works , manual switch buttons.

Weakness: Slow in switching.

I have this unit at work and it is painfully slow in switching between computers. It comes with the cables , wich are used for usb mouse , usb keyboard and VGA Connector. It has a good feature where you can switch manually with the buttons on the unit. The drawback is that it is slow in switching between computers.
