Strengths: Lighted keys, full media keys (play, ff, record, etc), auto sleep, super sleek and very very sturdy, tons of auto mapping hotkeys and mouse trackpad and left/right click.
Weakness: I have heard that the paint or top coating chips off after only a week of standard use, but i have not seen ANY signs of this. The N key is a little big because of the shaping.
I really cant say enough good things about this keyboard, it was a choice between this and the logitech and i went with the 8000 since it had sooo many more options. All my favorite programs are hotkeyed uptop and the call button is GREAT for skype. also have a very useful gadgets button, similar to what the mac has.
THE GOOD: Rechargeable; easy-to-use and comprehensive media control keys; smart backlighting design. THE BAD: Expensive; clunky recharging station. THE BOTTOM LINE: Microsofts Wireless Entertainment Desktop 8000 brings a lot of features and functions. Its wireless, backlit keyboard is also rechargeable, but we wish it were better designed and about $50 less expensive. We suspect many people will...

Needs a revision and a price drop
Strengths: Sleek look, attractive silver finish, great key feel, key backlighting is very cool
Weakness: Slow to reconnect to BT after suspend, hotkeys not that useful, Microsoft decal on mouse peels off one letter at a time, too expensive, sometimes goes haywire if you rest your wrists on it wrong
Overall I like this set. I wish I hadn't had to pay over $200 for it, but I really wanted a backlit wireless keyboard and this was the only thing going. To its credit the set looks very cool. The keyboard is low profile and both mouse and kb are painted with a stunning two-tone metallic silver finish. The low-travel keys on the keyboard have great feel and are very similar to a laptop keyboard...
