With Seagate's new five year warranty you would have to be crazy to purchase WD. I have had two drives fail on me in the last year at considerable loss of time and money. Be prepared for mindless drones at customer service who don't foster customer relations if you can ever get through. No support for Data Lifeguard tools and web site out of date and email support not functioning. These issues...
Strengths: Very fast, quiet and reliable

I have owned many WD over the years and this model is one of the fastest and quietest I have ever seen. WD is always my choice for hard drives, their price to quality ratio is always very high in my book. Whn I fill up this 120Gig HD I am sure my next drive will be a Western Digital also.

I have 3 of these already and have never had a problem with any of them. Their customer service is excellent. Their waranty service is excellent also. I had my 80GB go bad a couple of years ago and they sent out a replacement the same day I called them.
Strengths: Good quality brand harddrive
Weakness: 2 MB buffer, try to find an 8 MB buffer hard drive if you need it.
Decent hard drive at a decent price. It does what it is supposed to. Haven't had any problems with it in my computer at all. Would highly recommend to anybody looking for a decent harddrive.

Weakness: does not come with a disk to format via USB connection.
I bought this to use in an external usb case. After unsuccefully trying to format the HD, I had to take it back out of the external case and put it in a CPU box to format. After that, I reinstalled it in the external and it works fine.

The Western Digital Caviar WD1200BB 120GB Hard Drive is one of the best out there for the price. I have owned other NAME BRAND hard drives that doesn't even come close to Western Digital's preformances .....

Died quickly
Strengths: Cheap
Weakness: Reliability suspect, especially for consumer drives.
I have used one of these for about 9 months for backups only (ie low usage rate, never stressed out the drive, etc.). Had a head crash only 9 months after purchasing this drive, of course it's out of warranty.
