High Failure Rate
Strengths: Make great paper weights.
Weakness: High failure rate. Very short life.
I've replaced many of these drives, more than any other model drive, in the past year. I'm going on drive #4 in one laptop (original failed after approximately two years, replacement failed after three weeks, RMA replacement failed three months after that). Replacing it with a differant model this time around. Will avoid these like the plague from now on.

mk6021cas
Strengths: nothing special
Weakness: nothing special, just died after less than 2 years of exploitation
my vaio pcg-v505dp (M1.6GHz) was equipped with a toshiba mk6021cas hard drive. the hard drive died in a less than 2 years time. On contrary, my old (9 years) nameless laptop (PII 233MHz) equipped with a nameless taiwanese hard drive both are still alive

Poor durability
Strengths: It lasted 2 years max. . .
Weakness: Needs to be replaced every 1-2 years.
I bought my Compaq Presario laptop in March of 2003. The laptop worked fine for that year but during the end of February the computer started running slow and eventually just died. I find out that the hard drive is the cause and replace it. Two years later the hard drive has crashed again and now I'm looking for an alternative hard drive. I recommend avoiding this hard drive if you can.

I have had this drive for over 1...
Strengths: Very Good and Stable. Doesn't heat up much. Quiet and Reliable. This can sum up this drive. Shipped with AntiStatic packaging.
Weakness: None
I have had this drive for over 1 Yr and never had any issues. I use it with my USB External Enclosure primarily for keeping back-up. The speed is good and the drive appears to be very reliable. Even after use for 24 hrs continiously, it didn't heat up much which was surprising as my other Wester Digital Desktop HDD heats up after 10 hrs of continious use.

Died After Less Than 3 years use
Strengths: quiet
Weakness: Died after less than 3 years of use
This drive was part of my Sony Viao PCG-V505EC. Recently, it really started to run slow and now I'm going to have to replace the drive after less than 3 years of use. NOT a realiable drive. It has a three year warrenty but who wants to send their computer back to SONY for 6 weeks.
I won't be buying a SONY again, I'll stick to HP. Never had a problem with any of my HP's.
