I've tried many different portable hard drives over the years, and this is probably my favorite. The metal finish doesn't show fingerprints and won't get scratched easily and the rubber border prevents it from slipping all over the table. It's about as compact as they come, and it will work with a single USB power cable, versus some that require two. I don't bother with the software, so cannot...
Strengths: compact size (smaller than mini III), backup feature (backup the entire hard disk and make it bootable from the mini)
Weakness: The software is not compatible with mini III under vista. So if you have both mini III and mini 4, you won't be able to use the software on both.
Maxtor has set the bar higher for ultra portable drive. The size is unbeatable. Also the past experience with Maxtor won my trust at its mini products. Very reliable and handy backup tool.

One Touch 4 Mini is terrible!!
Strengths: small sized but not worth it.
Weakness: Too difficult to download software. Too complicated. Do not buy it.
I purchased this product and it was a very big mistake. The CD download took took load and used terminology that the average person would not understand. I gave it a chance twice to download but wouldn't. The red light turns on but not the blue light. Don't waste your time!!!!!!
