Strengths: Slim and sleek design. Works right when you plug into your computer via USB cable.
Weakness: Seems Fragile so don't drop it!!!
Although it seems delicate and fragile, the floppy drive does it's job. Plug and Play is perfect. I have both a MAC PowerBook and a PC notebook. Both laptops were able to use the drive with no hassle.

There's really not that much to say about this floppy drive. It works to see files and boot from floppies. In fact, the main reason I bought this drive was to be able to use floppy boot disks since my laptop doesn't have a floppy drive. I've worked with a few other USB floppy drives that are a bit faster (2x, I think, with this product being 1x) but for occasional use, it doesn't matter,...

Product works exactly as advertised. I am using it with KP Professional and did not need to install any drivers or anything. Just Plug-And-Play. A very solid drive and very reliable. The drive is very small, just bigger than the floppy disk itself. Highly reccomended!

Very good floppy drive for the money. Plugged drive into USB port and Mac OS X instantly recognized drive attached to system. No software loading required.

This is a perfectly servicable USB floppy. It has the same performance as a "regular" floppy drive. Consider a 2x spped floppy for only a little more money.

I have purchased like units from other manufacturers that cost considerably more although they do not appear to provide better function or superior construction. This unit comes with a USB cable that is longer than other units I have purchased making it more versitile with regard to locating the unit.

For the price this was very good way to add a floppy drive for my laptop. It is very portable can fits my laptop bag. This drive was very easy to install under Windows XP. I have not had any problems with this device.

Weakness: Win95 setup difficult
The LaCie USB Floppy Drive for PC has worked well there was no major setup on Win2k & up but I had some difficulties on Win95 not the typical use. So I highky recommend the product.

I got this product because of the price and it works. I was expecting the 4x model but I received the 1x model. It's a little slower than I expected but it works. I haven't owned or used the product for very long but I have used it often in the small amount of time I've owned it, I'm pretty happy with it. And big bonus -- it matches my powerbook!!

This product is a very basic unit that fulfills the purpose. many laptops no longer come with floppy drives and yet they still are needed from time to time. ghost for instance requires a startup disk not a CD!
