Strengths: DVI, 16ms reponse time,
Weakness: speakers, one dead pixel
It took me several days to adapt myself to the SXGA monitor. It is bright and thin. It is good for game and video with the 16ms response time. The shape and the sensitive buttons are really cool. There is one dead pixel on my monitor, and the speakers are not good.
Strengths: NEC reputation, excellent image quality, ultra-slim profile, quick response time
Weakness: 1 year warranty (vs. the 3 years offered by almost every other mfg. on 17" LCDs); considering NEC's reputation for quality, however, I don't consider this a weakness as much as I do a curiosity.
The first thing that struck me before I had even unpacked this monitor was its ultra-slim profile, made obvious by the narrow depth of the box in which it is packaged. Once unpacked, setup was a breeze. The inputs are all conveniently located at the back of the base, thereby eliminating any potential hassle of messy, cumbersome cords getting in your way - a practical feature that is also in...
Strengths: No dead pixel, Good design, DVI
Weakness: NA
Based my experience, it is a good LCD on this price level with the similar function. The control function is really cool. The quality of performance on photo and picture are fine. Operation and setup are really easy. There is no DVI cable included. The speaker is not a strong part of this LCD. The default bright setting is too high. Recommend!
Strengths: Nice looking design, great picture, no dead pixel.
Weakness: none so far
It's still a bit pricy compared with other LCD monitors. However, the picture quality is quite superior. It might be better than the monitors in the same level. NEC with DVI, 16ms, and price less than $300 would be quite a good bargain.
Strengths: Wide view angle, DVI, quick response
Weakness: poor text quality and weak speaker
This monitor has a very wide view angle. Great for watching movies. The response time is very small for gaming. And it has the DVI interface. But compared to my DELL 173fp, the text is not so comfortable. The orignal brightness is 100 which is too bright. The text has color fringing. Maybe it will be better to use DVI. The speaker is weak. Almost no use.
Strengths: great picture, dvi or analog connection, easily setup
Weakness: icon title flutter touchy setting controls
this is my second lcd monitor, i had to turn down the brightness and contrast.. great picture seems larger than 17"..came assembled (just unfold) easy plug n play and driver update with xp I did notice my desktop icons flutter when i opened MS Word and other software with display settings 1280x768 or higher.. i backed down to 1152x864 and all is well base of lcd has touch sensor setting controls...
Strengths: Looks, Function, Peformance
Weakness: Controls a bit erratic.
This is an awesome LCD monitor that has all the bells & whistles, like Speakers, DVI & Analog inputs, etc. Picture quality is just great and its very sleek as well. Resolution is 1280x1024 (max for 17''). Its one of the best monitors out there. Overall i am very happy with it. Only complaint is that controls are a bit too sensitive, but once you set it they dont have to be fiddled with again.
Strengths: Very thin, looks thinner than other LCDs. Bright color and picture.
Weakness: none
I bought this NEC LCDs 1 week ago, and I am happy with it. It is super thin, seems to be thinner than other LCDs. It has bright color and picture.
Strengths: Fast response time; not so expensive
I only have had it for 3 weeks. I really love it. The fast response time and sharp display are amazing. Compared to my E172FP, this one is much better. With its DVI connection, I can now fully utilize the AGP card on my system. The price of this LCD is not so high. I'm happy using it every day.
Light-up membrane controls and a cylindrical speaker bar give this unit a clean, sleek appearance; tilt adjustment is stiff.

NEC MultiSync LCD1735NXM 17" LCD Monitor
Strengths: Got DVI input, fast 16ms response time, easy cabling access
Weakness: Dead or stuck pixel
Great response time for gaming. A rare LCD that has an easy access to connectors for DVI, VGA and audio. Everything is an A+ until a stuck pixel is found and poking at you like an eyesore. You get used to it with time and if the scenes are changing while gaming, you hardly notice it.
