Additional Specifications
Number of Memory Cards: 1
Strengths: Large size is perfect for storing music, videos, GPS maps, applications. No problems with compatibility with Dell Axim; card detected automatically. Very fast read/write speads on Axim.
Weakness: Somewhat expensive, although prices have dropped
Overall, this has been a great card thus far for my Axim X51v. I'm glad that I decided to go with this 4GB card instead of settling for a more common smaller size. I spent quite some time researching this card and found this site with some good benchmarks that helped me make this decision: www.core-sound.com/pda...
Strengths: Great price. Comes pre-formatted.
Weakness: Really none, except the brand is not very well known.
This SD card is great. I haven't had any problems with it for my Garmin PDA/GPS. It holds virtually everything. I haven't used the entire capacity yet, but so far so good. Two thumbs up from me!
Strengths: - very fast - lots of space
Weakness: - doesn't work in many cameras - doesn't work with many card readers
If you have a really, really recent camera, you're probably fine. It works in my Canon S3 IS, for example. It does NOT work in my Pentax Optio 750z. Similarly, many USB card readers may not read 4gb cards. So, make sure that you buy this from some place with a decent return policy unless you're sure about your intended devices (and, of course, don't cut out the UPC for a rebate until you know...
Strengths: Very fast data transfer rate, lots of storage for camera.
Weakness: Was not compatible with my fairly new card reader, had to buy a new reader.
This card works great with my Canon S2 IS camera. With it, I'm able to store up to 30 minutes of the highest quality video (640 x 480 @ 30 fps). The camera will stop recording the video when the file size reaches 1 GB (about 10 minutes on highest quality). But, then you can record another clip. Because of the large capacity and fast speed, it works great with my camera. However, there are...
Strengths: Formatted just fine (3.8GB) in my old (2003?) Sandisk card reader
Weakness: Doesn't work in my Nikon coolpix L5 nor my Nikon Coolpix 2200
I think that I now realize that SD cards and SDHC Cards (SD High Capacity) are not the same thing. You would thing a brand new Nikon would work with this new format but the two do not function together. Formatting via PC first does NOT fix the problem. It looks like the card will work when inserted into the L5, but as soos as I shoot a picture I get "Warning!!!this card cannot be read" after...
Strengths: I have had this card for 5 months now in my treo 700wx and I have had no,none, notta, any problems. I play mp3 and wmv video all the time.
I have had this card for 5 months now in my treo 700wx and I have had no,none, notta, any problems. I play mp3 and wmv video all the time.
Strengths: batteries rather than 'out of memory' now become the limiting factor to extended field shoots.
Weakness: $242 on ecost but $25 rebate helps
I had anxiety about this card working in my Panasonic Lumix FZ30 since no site (panasonic or transcend) specifically says it will. It did! Inserted, formatted, and got 1,308 3 mb pictures (528 @8mb)! Woof! Shooting around the house, recycle speed is not noticeable--I can pop ~1 shot/sec with this prosumer camera in manual finger push mode. Haven't tried anything more demanding.
Strengths: High speed, low cost
Weakness: Product failures and terrible customer support!
(Update 9/10/06: I finally got a replacement from Transcend -- after filing the original review. The replacement SD card appeared to work fine for about a week. Then my PDA SD card slot stopped working. I tried different SD cards and many soft resets with no success. I thought my PDA was broken. I finally did a hard reset and my PDA SD card slot come back alive. I returned to using the Patriot 4...
Strengths: Over 1100 shots in highest JPEG setting, 12,600 in the lowest.
Weakness: Small compatability issue
The card works fine straight out of the package, however, upon attempting to format it in the camera you will render it unusable. That is, until you reformat it on your computer. From my understanding the D50 is compatable with the FAT 32 file system that the SD card is formatted in from the factory, but when you format a card on the camera it attempts to format in FAT 16. This format is not...

Fast and Reliable Portable Data Solution
Strengths: Super fast read/write, data protection, 4GB capacity, perfect for professional digital SLRs
Weakness: Older cameras and mobile devices may not be able to read the entire 4GB capacity.
I purchased this SD card primarily for use with my Kodak dSLRc digital SLR camera. Initially my camera did not recognize the entire capacity of this card. However I downloaded and installed the latest firmware for my camera, and now it works perfectly. I see a significant increase in write speed when I take a shot. I have seen even more impressive read speeds when reviewing photos on the camera,...
