Very nice docking station

Strengths: Compact size, DVI out, comes with it's own power adaptor, extra USB ports

Weakness: None so far

The main reason I bought this port replicator is to connect to my 21" Samsung LCD through the DVI port. It has been working great. There are four USB ports on the dock, which allow me to plug in my mouse, external keyboard, as well as my laser printer. It's one of the best docking station out there.

Great product that save times in detaching laptop...

Strengths: Has DVI, 4 USB ports, NIC, Modem port and bunch of other useful ports. Easy to detach from base

Weakness: nothing

I bought the IBM thinkpad to use this docking station. I think this is the best docking station on the market. It has everything that I need which includes DVI and 4 USB ports. All my devices are plugged into the docking station including the external keyboard, mouse, and LCD monitor.

ThinkPad Advanced Mini-Dock - port replicator

Strengths: Works with T61P, provides DVI PORT!, extra USB

Weakness: None

I've been using this dock for the past few weeks, and I really like it. It allows for the machine to be locked into the dock, and the Kensington lock port on the dock allows the whole thing to be secured. One of my favorite features is the DVI port, but the convenience of having additional expansion and ease of use allows for my laptop to be both a portable workstation and a desktop. I highly...

ThinkPad Advanced Mini-Dock

Strengths: DVI-D out and many more USB ports.

Weakness: Must turn key to dock or undock.

This unit isn't bad. It just worked (with Linux) on my T60p. I really like that it has a lot of extra USB ports and most importantly a DVI-D port. By itself the T60p does not have a DVI-D port (just HD15 VGA), so the dock allows you to digitally attach a monitor for the crispest display possible. I would have preferred to not have to use the key to dock and undock it. I also think that adding the...

Great Addition

Strengths: Input/Output compatibility, Keyboard/peripherals, Security Features, Build Quality

This dock is really useful for convenience. I use it in my dorm room at my desk to connect all my peripherals including: keyboard, mouse, monitor, speakers, and an external hard drive. The additional ethernet port is very useful in my dorm where the wired connection is much faster than wireless. One drawback can be docking on a less than solid surface, i.e. on top of a bankers box. The dock...

Good dock

OK, the T60/T400/T500 series dock is gatting a bit long in the tooth, it is missing eSATA, displayport, firewire, flash reader, and an expresscard slot, which would make it just about perfect. I have 2 (home and work) and use the ethernet and DVI ports in both locations. Dock needs HDMI, so you will need ANYDVD to play Blu-Ray disks over DVI. At home I also use all of the USB ports and the SPDF...

A old hand-me-down but this good

Strengths: Input/Output compatibility, Weight, Durability, Security Features, Build Quality

I just recently received this dock from my father (which still has its IBM logo on it) and its the best thing that I got for my T500. It provides a whole lot of ports and those 4 extra usb ports come in handy a lot. The docking/undocking is very smooth, unless of course I forget the key. This beast of a port allows me to clear out my work space and puts all my cords and components behind my...

A significant improvement

Strengths: Input/Output compatibility, Keyboard/peripherals, Durability, Security Features, Build Quality

When I upgraded from my R51 to a T61, I also replaced my old Mini-Dock. In comparison, this new dock is a significant improvement, particularly in the following areas: 1) It provides more connections (the three additional USB ports are especially nice) 2) The corner alignment makes it much easier to physically match the laptop with the hidden connector underneath (the old dock only had visual...

Perfect companion to your Thinkpad

Strengths: Input/Output compatibility, Keyboard/peripherals, Durability, Build Quality, innovative design

The ThinkPad Advanced MiniDock is the ideal workmate for your Thinkpad (T60, R60 or Z60 series). With the addition of an external keyboard and external monitor, you'll have a powerful desktop replacement. Then, thanks to the well-designed...

An excellent choice

Strengths: Input/Output compatibility, Weight, Durability, Warranty, Support, Security Features, Build Quality

Wow....this dock absolutely ROCKS. I use my laptop for work, writing software and doing database work and the extended functionality and security this dock provides is amazing for the cost. Not only does it make my laptop function like a desktop, the locking feature ensures my laptop isn't going anywhere without me. A definite "must have"!!
